To The Editor:
We're going for it! Thanks to all of your letters and support, a group of us have decided to keep the New Year's Eve Ball Drop tradition alive!
This morning, Storm King Fire Engine Co. #2 said they would support us fully, including lending us their bucket truck for the lift. Ray Yannone is donating the ball used last year. Johnny Vornlocher is on board for construction and execution. Frank Ostrander has volunteered to help with sound and music and, of course - the countdown to midnight! Let's all gather together as friends and neighbors in ringing in the New Year in this wonderful place we call "Home".
With the approval from the Mayor and the Village Board, we hope to see everyone out there to celebrate the arrival of 2011! Please support this effort in any way you can. Volunteer, pick up trash, and do a good deed every day.
