General News: County Foreclosure Auction Next Week
December 01, 2010
From the Orange County Executive Office
Orange County will be holding its 2010 Deed Sale on Tuesday, December 7 at 10:00 am, registration starting at 9:00 am. This real estate auction on tax foreclosed properties will take place in the Legislative Chambers on the third floor of the Orange County Government Center, 255 Main Street, Goshen, NY 10924.
Once a year, Orange County acquires properties for non-payment of taxes through a foreclosure process. These properties are then put to public auction.
Properties that are not sold at the auction can be bid /purchased on a monthly basis through the Real Property Tax Office.
County Executive Edward A. Diana said, “I just want to stress that prospective bidders should thoroughly research and investigate any property that they are planning to bid on at auction.”
Please note that a second auction will take place at 3:00 pm the same day for only those properties where deposits were not received from winning bidders of the 10:00 am auction.
“I encourage the public to visit www.orangecountygov.com/realproperty and click the Deed Sale link to view the 2010 Deed Sale Book, Pre-Registration Forms and Instructions, Deed Sale Buying Tips, and much more,” said Director of Real Property John McCarey, CCD.
