To the Editor:
Please be aware that the Town Board has a work session scheduled for Monday, October 4th at 7 pm at The Town Hall. Among other items to be discussed, the fate of NYMA will also be on the agenda. All tax-paying citizens who are concerned with the unwanted development of the NYMA properties, as well any other large parcels of land within our town and village, should attend. It is critical that the voice of the people be heard and that the fate of these lands be determined by the majority. There is strength in numbers....the town board needs to see that.
There have been many twists and turns in the process since the three businessmen swept in to provide debt relief to the school. Many of those changes do not contribute to the future security of the town and because of that it is very important that all residents become aware of the issues and challenges we face. Equally important, the townspeople should recognize that solutions do exist if we can exert enough pressure. Time is of the essence, however, so we need to remember why we signed that petition three months ago and act accordingly.
If you are serious about preserving the quality of life you now experience here in Cornwall please make it a point to be there on Monday.
