Arrests


Wednesday, August 25
Police charge 39-year-old Isaias Sanches, of Cornwall, with seven different charges involving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle he was driving on Route 32.

Five juveniles were referred to the Orange County Probation Department after an investigation into juveniles trespassing on the roof of the Cornwall Middle School.

Police arrest an unidentified 16-year-old female from Cornwall for assault in the third degree and an unidentified 17-year-old girl from Brooklyn for second degree harassment after they were allegedly involved in a fight in the parking lot of Dunkin Donuts.

Friday, August 27
Police charge an unidentified 22-year-old male and a 25-year-old woman who were involved in a domestic dispute with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Police charge a 20-year-old Cornwall woman with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, criminal contempt in the 2nd degree, unlawful possession of marijuana and resisting arrest after police responded to her house for a domestic dispute involving her mother.

Police charge Edwin Barrios, 26, of Cornwall, with making a false statement about an incident involving his vehicle.

Police charge Prince Combs, 22, of Newburgh, with driving without a license, and driving an unregistered vehicle.


Saturday, August 28
Police arrest Franklin Reyes, 42, of Cornwall, Juan A Perez, 36, of NYC, Luis A Miranda Cruz. 28, of NYC, Juan Deverez-Santana, 35, of NYC, Ramon Herrera-Fabre, 23, of NYC and Elvin Cortorreal-Solis of NYC for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, a class A-1 felony (see story).

Incidents

Monday, August 23
1:00 am Police respond to a noise complaint and find two pit bulls barking and both had wounds and were bleeding. The dog owner said the two dogs had been separated but an open door allowed them to escape and get into a fight.


Tuesday, August 24
7:47 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver who was involved in a traffic accident after he allegedly tailgated another driver at Chadeayne Circle.

10:31 pm Police transport a male to the hospital to be checked out after he is involved in a domestic dispute with his brother-in-law.


Thursday, August 26
2:24 pm Police locate a 4-year-old girl who had wandered away from her home and return her to her father.

7:18 pm Police take a report from a woman who says her daughter has been harassed on Facebook.


Friday, August 27
3:51 pm Police respond to a report of an elderly Alzheimer’s patient missing from his home and locate him on Main Street and Curie Road.


Saturday, August 28
12:43 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident involving a parked vehicle.

2:38 pm Police respond to a report of a dog that bit a neighbor’s dog.

5:30 pm Police investigate a reported burglary at an empty house on Mineral Springs Road.


Sunday, August 29
5:27 am Police respond to motor vehicle accident on Mineral Springs Road involving a tree that is blocking the road.

9:16 am Police respond to a verbal domestic dispute that began when a man reacted to the visit of his in-laws that morning.

10:19 am Police chase a motorcycle on Route 9W and charge the driver with speeding (80 mph in a 55 mph zone) and failure to comply.

11:06 pm Police respond to a report of a possible fight among juveniles on Main Street and four of the juveniles under age 16 are provided courtesy transport home.
