General News: Cornwall Knights Win State Championship

The American Legion’s Cornwall Knights, a team with 16 and 17-year-old baseball players from Cornwall, Monroe, Washingtonville and Highland Falls, won the state title championship in the Junior Division on Sunday.
The team, sponsored by American Legion Post 353 and Post 488, on Saturday defeated Scrub Oak with a score of 5-2 and then went on to defeat Saratoga, 10-9.
In the championship game on Sunday in Peekskill, Charlie Boucher pitched the entire game. Craig Simon had five RBI and Steven Broadhead hit a solo home run. Tom Marcellan had five hits and Anthony Milano was named MVP for the tournament.
