To the Editor:
Under the leadership of Roxanne Donnery as chair of the Orange County legislature, together with former County Legislator Frank Fornario, the resolution for an office of public accountability was passed in 2009. She had the foresight to see the need for accountability and transparency in our county government. Unfortunately the County Executive vetoed the resolution.
If we had the Office of Public Accountability in place, the first investigation would be dealing with the possible privatization of Valley View Nursing Home and the role of William DeProspo, chairman of the Orange County Republican Committee.
County Legislator Donnery has demonstrated through her years as legislator that she will fight for what is in the best interests of her constituents; will confront and demand results from our elected officials on the state and federal levels; and work across party lines in order to get things done.
The 96th Assembly district needs her in Albany to fight for us, works for an accountable and transparent state government, and make sure that our district gets its fair share of funds.
If you've had enough of the dysfunction in Albany, join me on November 2 and vote for Roxanne Donnery for the 96th Assembly District.
