Arrests


Tuesday, June 29
Police arrest 26-year-old Gerardo Gonzalez, of Newburgh, on a bench warrant.

Police arrest 49-year-old Janet Nathan, of Salisbury Mills, for driving while intoxicated, including charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated and improper lane use.


Thursday, July 1
Police arrest 34-year-old Dennis Vittum, of Maybrook, on a bench warrant.

Police arrest 30-year-old Craig Faber, of Chester, for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and also charge him with having an expired inspection certificate.


Friday, July 2
Police arrest 45-year-old Jamie Marin, of Newburgh, for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.


Sunday, July 4
Police arrest 25-year-o;d William Youmans, of New Windsor, for driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident.

Incidents


Monday, June 28
2:34 am Police respond to a report of a fire along the CSX train tracks near the ‘high point” of Route 218. Police officer is driven to the location of a small fire by Storm King Engine car #2. It appeared that a small branch was still burning on the rock ledge of the mountain that was inaccessible by foot.

Water was sent over the ledge from the high point by the Highland Engine Company. Due to the close proximity of the train tracks, the officer requested confirmation that train traffic be stopped but a southbound train soon approached and all units got out of its way. The actual cause of the fire is unknown

8:59 am Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W and the Route 218 ramp. Minor damage.


Tuesday, June 29
2:16 pm Police respond to a domestic dispute involving a former boyfriend.

5:58 pm Police take a report of a harassing remark left on Facebook.

10:30 pm Police take a report of a wheel that fell off a passing vehicle that damaged another vehicle.

11:00 Police respond to a report of a brush fire in the area of Route 218 and the railroad tracks and advise two subjects.


Wednesday, June 30
9:10 am Police take a report of damage done to a wall of a room at the Cadet Motel during the night.

10:48 am Police take a report of a car vs. pick up truck motor vehicle accident.

11:00 am Police respond to a sighting of a coyote in the front yard of a residence on Lakeview Trail but animal is gone on arrival.

5:31 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver for going 63 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W.


Thursday, July 1
12:40 am Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 94 and dispatch the injured animal.

10:17 pm Police pick up a german Shepard puppy running loose on Route 9W. Animal is later picked up by owner.
1:28 pm Police investigate a report of a prescription pad stolen from a local medical office that was subsequently used to attempt to forge prescriptions.

8:43 pm Police respond to the scene of a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Angola Road.

10:00 pm Police respond to a one-car motor vehicle accident on Otterkill Road in which the driver lost control on a curve and struck a tree, no injuries.

10:59 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a car when into the ditch.


Friday, July 2
1:28 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage in the parking lot of Cornwall Plaza.

3:55 pm Police investigate an incident of road rage involving two drivers on Route 32.


Saturday, July 3
10:00 pm Police take a missing person report regarding a female whose mother said she has not been able to reach her for more than a day.

10:05 pm Police respond to a report of juveniles ringing the doorbell of a residence on Russell Street then running away.


Sunday, July 4
8:45 am Police take a report of an 18-wheer truck that struck and killed a deer on Route 32.

2:50 pm Police remove the son of a homeowner who did not want him on the propety.

9:25 pm Police advise several subjects who were shooting off fireworks.
