Arrests

Friday, June 18
Police arrest Allison Cortland, 18, of Highland Mills, for possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21.


Sunday, June 20
Police arrest Louis Lapaitra, 24, of Newburgh, for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.


Incidents


Monday, June 14
Police issue a traffic ticket to a driver on Route 218.

Police make a welfare check in a child custody dispute.

Police pick up a stray dog who is later returned to his owner with a warning about dogs running at large.


Wednesday, June 16
Police respond to a girlfriend-boyfriend verbal dispute.

Police assist town police in search for a girl missing from a group residence in Cornwall.


Thursday, June 17
Police issue two tickets to a driver after stopping a vehicle for driver without a seatbelt.

Police respond to a motor vehicle accident at Route 9W and Mountain Road.


Friday, June 18
Police respond to a report from CSX of a group of juveniles on the railroad tracks at the riverfront. Subjects are located but in the town’s jurisdiction and town offers respond and hike down the location by the river and advise a group of 20-21 juveniles. CSX is notified and a CSX cop will have to be dispatched from Albany.

Police respond to a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcyclist who is flown by medivac from a landing zone behind COH school to St. Francis Hospital.

Police respond to a report of eggs thrown at a residence on Duncan Avenue several days earlier.

Police respond to a report of a large number of vehicles at the riverfront and learn that students from the Newburgh Free Academy were taking prom pictures. Officer directed traffic until the place cleared out.


Sunday, June 20
Police respond to a minor motor vehicle accident with property damage at the riverfront.
