To the Editor:
On May 22, 2010, the Black Rock Fish & Game Club hosted a Benefit for Sergeant Eddie Ryan. I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank all of the committee members, family members, and numerous volunteers who worked so hard to honor a wounded Marine.
Thanks and gratitude need to go out to the community for attending this event, and all our local vendors who generously donated, goods, food, beverages etc. Because of all of us working together, the event was a huge success! As a result, we were able to reach our goal of assisting the Ryan family in their efforts to hire a therapy trainer and possibly help offset the cost of a new wheelchair for Eddie.
In these tough economic times, we can all be very proud that as a community we came together to take care of one of our own.
