General News: Non-Profits Welcome to Public Gathering

Time is running out for groups to sign up for Cornwall Connecting 2010, a four-hour gathering of non-profit organizations that serve the greater Cornwall community. A limited number of food vendors will be allowed to set up at the event, which will be held on the lawn of the Cornwall public library on Friday, May 21. The deadline to sign up to be an exhibitor is Friday, May 14.
Beth Texter, who is in charge of public relations at the library, says that participation is open to any non-profit organization that provides programs and/or services for residents of the Cornwall Central School District. She expects that groups will promote their programs and let people know about opportunities to volunteer – both adults and students.
At the same time, the library will offer children’s activities and the Friends of the Library will sponsor a book sale. A display of vintage cars is also planned.
