Arrests

April 28 – A unidentified 46-year-old Cornwall-on-Hudson man is charged with sexual abuse in the first degree, a class D felony, after a woman reported to police that she had been forcibly touched by a co-worker at her place of employment. The man was also terminated by his employer, police said.


April 28 – Police charge 22-year-old Lenin Ramos-Mendoza, of Newburgh, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after his vehicle was involved in a minor motor vehicle accident and he was found to have a revoked driver’s license.

May 1 – Police charge a 17-year-old Cornwall youth with petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, after he cashed a check for $45 that was reported stolen from the boys’ locker room at Cornwall High School.

Monday, April 26
6:36 am Police investigate a report of damage to the golf course grass caused by a unknown vehicle during the previous night. Damage was estimated at $750.

8:38 am Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 94.

2:56 pm Police take a report of a girl bitten on her finger by a wild bunny rabbit.


Tuesday, April 27
8:46 am Police respond to a 2-car motor vehicle on Route 32 with no apparent injuries.

10:18 am Police issue a driver a ticket for speeding on Bethlehem Road (53 mph in a 30 mph zone).

11:08 am Police issue a driver a ticket for speeding on Route 94 (56 mph in a 40 mph zone).

12:51 pm Police investigate a reported identity fraud that resulted in a fraudulent credit card account and T-Mobile account being opened.


Thursday, April 29
6:54 am Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Quaker Avenue involving a car that rear-ended a tractor trailer.

11:39 am Police respond to a husband-wife domestic dispute.

1:28 pm Police respond to a complaint of a subject receiving harassing phone calls and emails from a former girlfriend.

4:07 pm Police respond with the Vails Gate Fire Department to a lawn mower on fire on Beakes Road.

6:01 pm Police respond to a husband-wife domestic dispute.


Friday, April 30
7:41 am Police issue a ticket to driver for speeding on Orrs Mills Road (66 mph in a 45 mph zone).

3:05 pm Police respond to a report of a deer vs motor vehicle accident on Route 94.

6:16 pm Police investigate a report of a coyote in a resident’s yard on Holloran Road with no results.


Saturday, May 1
11:50 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 32.

3:59 pm Police issue a speeding ticket to a driver on Route 9W near the hospital (61 mph in a 45 mph zone).

4:33 pm Police issue a speeding ticket to a driver on Angola Road (53 mph in a 40 mph zone).

5:32 pm Police respond to a noise complaint on Vann’s Way.

7:59 pm Police respond with Highland Engine Company to a brush fire on Route 218 near the high point of Route 218.

10:02 pm Police disperse a group of juveniles skateboarding in the parking lot of Key Food.


Sunday, May 2
12:36 am Police move along a group of subjects at the Lee Road school playground.]

11:32 am Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Route 32.

4:15 pm Police investigate a reported violation of an order of protection.
