2:21 am Police investigate a reported attempt to break-in to a locked vehicle parked on Tomily Road.
11:50 am Police trap, then dispatch, a rabid raccoon on Alfred Street.
1:39 pm Police arrest 19-year-old Robert Hendriksen for attempted robbery in the second degree, attempted larceny in the fourth degree, assault in the second degree and menacing in the second degree. (see story)
Tuesday, April 13
7:58 am Police respond to a report of a vehicle on fire on Route 94 near Meadowbrook lodge and it is extinguished by the Vail’s Gate fire department.
10:25 am Police respond to a domestic dispute.
12:27 pm Police take a report from a woman who has received numerous harassing phone calls on her cell phone.
1:54 pm Police investigate a report of a picnic bench stolen from 68 Maple Street during the weekend.
5:21 pm Police investigate a report of a stolen motorcycle helmut and find it was taken by juveniles who parents agree to make restitution.

6:31 pm Police arrest an unidentified 33-year-old male for harassment and criminal contempt for violating a court order of protection taken out by his ex-wife.

7:19 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver going 56 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32.
9:21 pm Police advise a group of 13- and 14-year-old kids who had been playing ‘ring and run’ in the area of Pelham and Russell.
Sunday, April 18
4:30-55 pm Police issue two tickets for speeding on Route 9W.
5:26 pm Police charge 37-year-old Charlene Cox, of Newburgh, with DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana after stopping her vehicle for a traffic violation on Route 9W.

I am very please to see our Police Dept out enforcing our cell phone laws and loud exhaust from vehicles. I know they can't be everywhere but I wish they would enforce more of the same.
