Monday, April 5
12:15 pm Police charge an unidentified 22-year-old male from Cornwall with assault in the third degree, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree after he turned himself in two days after being involved with a dispute with his sister that led to the charges.
5:32 Police respond to a report of a 15-year-old female on Route 94 who fell at ground level is bleeding. COVAC transports her to the hospital.
7:56 pm Police assist Salisbury Mills fire department with traffic control on Jackson Avenue after a eight gallons of fluid is spilled on the roadway.
Tuesday, April 6
2:15 am Police charge 20-year-old Curtis June, of Cornwall, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and with an equipment violation after stopping his car on Laurel Avenue.
8:23 am Police investigate a report of a female possibly living in a vacant house in foreclosure on Russell Avenue and determine the identity of the woman who is located and advised not return. The bank that foreclosed on the property did not want to pursue charges.
12:22 pm Police respond to a report of a male subject kicking his gold Taurus in a parking lot on Route 94 and unsure of his mental state. Subjects states that he is mad at his auto insurance company for denying a claim and that he was kicking his car to up the damage. Subject is advised that this is insurance fraud.
12:25 pm Police charge an unidentified 39-year-old woman from New Windsor with harassment in the second degree and criminal trespass in the second degree after she was involved in a domestic dispute with a former domestic partner.
5:50 pm Police charge 48-year-old Raymond McGowan, of New Windsor, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after he is questioned about selling ice cream from a vendor truck without a permit.
Wednesday, April 7
7:35 am Police charge 18-year-old Edy Castillo, of Valley Cottage, with petty larceny after he is picked up by police in Rockland County.
4:40 pm Police move along two juveniles who were standing outside a business on Quaker Avenue waiting for a friend.
6:10 pm Police investigate a report of lock to a storage shed on Highland Avenue that was broken but nothing was removed.
8:34 pm Police respond to a fight between juveniles and notify parents. One person was taken to the hospital.
10:20 pm Police charge 34-year-old Jerome Strother, of Newburgh, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driver, an equipment violation and unlawful possession of marijuana after stopping his car on Quaker Avenue for having inadequate headlights.
Thursday, April 8
9:34 am Police charge 26-year-old Joshua Smith, of Newburgh, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an equipment failure and unlicensed driver after stopping his car on Route 94 for having an inadequate muffler.
3:55 pm Police issue a ticket to a woman for using her cell phone while driving on Route 32.
4:22 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver for going 51 mph in a 30 mph zone on Angola Road.
4:37 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver for going 70 mph in a 40 mph zone on Angola Road.
Friday, April 9
9:17 am Police issue a ticket to a driver for going 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 32.
9:38 am Police issue a ticket to a driver for going 51 mph in a 30 mph zone on Bethlehem Road.
3:28 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver for going 60 mph in a 30 mph zone on Mill Street.
4:11 pm Police charge 18-year-old Alexander Blate, of Newburgh, with unlawful possession of marijuana after stopping him for a traffic violation.
4:38 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver on Main Street for an expired inspection sticker.
6:46 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver on Quaker Avenue for an uninspected vehicle.
7:04 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver on Quaker Avenue for an expired inspection sticker.
8:41 pm Police respond to a domestic dispute.
9:07 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver on Route 94 for going 63 mph in a 40 mph zone.
Saturday, April 10
4:21 pm Police respond to a report of a suicidal subject who is transported to the hospital by COVAC.
8:21 pm Police advise a group of disorderly juveniles on Main Street.
9:14 pm Police observe fresh paint ball markings in the public restrooms in Cornwall town park (see story)
Sunday, April 11
4:50 am Police assist town of Highlands police with a fatal motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.
5:37 am Police charge 24-year-old Kara Lockhart Kukovich, of Arlington Va., with DWI after she was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.
3:23 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with injuries involving a motorcycle on Route 9W.
6:11 pm Police issue a ticket for a driver with an expired inspection sticker.
