The Cornwall High School Varsity Girls Cheerleading team took part in the National Competition, "Reach the Beach," in Ocean City, MD on February 28th that was sponsored by the American Cheer & Dance Company.
The Cornwall squad, under the direction of head coach Betty Bennett and assistant coach Jenna Giannotti, took sixth place in the competition.
Photographer Connie Wagner, who took the photos on this page, reports that the girls are finishing up their very long season that began with cheering for the varsity football team in early August, through the basketball season and competition time.
You can catch the girls performing for the boys and girls basketball teams as they compete in the finals. The girls varsity team plays Wallkill in the Section 9 Class A title game at 11:00 am on Sunday at SUNY New Paltz. The boys varsity team plays Red Hook for its title at 12:45 p.m. in the same location.
