General News: Students Escape Serious Injury in Crash
February 19, 2010
A three-vehicle collision on Route 94 injured four people, none seriously, on Friday morning shortly after 8 a.m.
Cornwall police chief Todd Hazard said that a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old female student at Cornwall Central High School swung too far into the other lane while making a right hand turn from Jackson Avenue onto Route 94 and struck a vehicle headed west on Route 94. The second vehicle struck a third one that was on the north side of Jackson Avenue.
Three occupants of the first vehicle, all high school students, were taken to Cornwall hospital, along with the 58-year-old male driver of the third vehicle, a resident of the town of Newburgh. The driver of the second vehicle, a 24-year-old woman from Montgomery, was not injured, Hazard said.
