General News: Library Looking for Old Yearbooks
February 18, 2010
From the Cornwall Public Library
Cornwall Public Library is on the hunt for copies of “The Dragon” – Cornwall Central High School’s yearbook since the 1960s – as well as yearbooks from earlier graduating classes. “We decided to start an archive of local yearbooks as part of our reference collection,” said Karen LaRocca-Fels, Library Director. “Thanks to a number of generous patrons, we already have a large number collected with the earliest reflecting the Class of 1949.”
Out of the 60 years spanning from 1949 to 2009, the library is missing the following 14 editions:
* 1950
* 1955
* 1956
* 1957
* 1960
* 1961
* 1962
* 1963
* 1965
* 1967
* 1968
* 1972
* 1981
* 2008
Anyone with copies of those yearbooks listed and that are willing to part with them – or even duplicates of editions already in the library’s collection – is asked to bring them to the library during regular hours. “We appreciate all Cornwall yearbook contributions, and look forward to growing this wonderful archive of Cornwall High School graduates,” said Ms. Fels.
