To the Editor:
Thank you so much for printing that beautiful extended profile on February 4 of the Debrosse family, who (as you say) are among The Lucky Ones who have managed to find refuge in the aftermath of Haiti's nightmare. The disaster can seem so far away from us, but your article is an important reminder that we are all connected...and that relief can be found as close to home as New Windsor.
I must say, however, how surprised I am that as of today, there were no comments made on the article, so I quickly added my own. (Read the article here.) I suppose that controversy and dissatisfaction are more likely to elicit the commenting public, than "news" of kindness and good will. This seems a sad commentary in and of itself, on something which I am also, no doubt, guilty of. Thanks for giving me so much to think about....
