General News: Trustee Candidates Forum Announced
February 10, 2010
Are you concerned about taxes, water rates and the decisions that village trustees have to make to provide services while trying to keep costs under control?
If so, you will want to attend an open forum to hear the three candidates who are running in the March 16 election for two village trustee seats,
At 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, Barbara Gosda and Rick Gioia, both first-term trustees who are running for re-election, and James Kane, who is making his second run for a trustee seat, will talk about their visions for the village.
The forum, which is sponsored by News from Cornwall and Cornwall-on-Hudson, will allow each candidate to present his or her views before they are asked to respond to questions from the moderator, editor Nancy Peckenham.
If you would like to submit a question for the candidates, please email it to [email protected]. Questions will be edited for brevity and repetition. A limited number of questions may be submitted in writing on the morning of the forum, at least ten minutes before the event begins.
The forum will be followed by Voter Registration Day from 12 noon to 5 pm conducted by the Village Clerk, where eligible resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson who are not yet registered may sign up to vote in the election, which will be held on Tuesday, March 16th.
