Monday, January 25
10:09 am Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a foot-long tree limb fell onto a car as it passed the Quaker Meeting House on Quaker Avenue.
1:02 pm Police respond to a report of a tree down on a residence on Fontane Drive. The residence is currently vacant.
9:29 pm Police take a report from a woman who received a harassing phone call seeking to verify her social security number and date of birth.
11:25 pm Police issue two summonses to a driver with a permit only license, tow the car and give the two male occupants a courtesy transport.
Tuesday, January 26
1:30 pm Police investigate a report of a guitar and amplifier taken from a residence.
5:02 pm Police assist village police with a report of a man bitten by two dogs while he was walking on Deer Hill Road.
10:48 pm Police respond to a report of a violent drug-related overdose at a residence and COVAC transports subject to hospital.
Wednedsay, January 27
11:22 am Police charge 21-year-old Adam Driever, of New Windsor, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and with driving on the shoulder of the road after stopping his vehicle on Route 32.
3:01 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver of an unregistered vehicle with no plates on Route 9W and impound the vehicle.
3:50 pm Police charge 29-year-old Wildredo Rodrigues, of Newburgh, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a license and with having his view obstructed by an object after stopping his vehicle on Route 9W.
8:49 pm Police charge 34-year-old Joseph Arce, of Newburgh, with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree after they stop his car for allegedly speeding and officer detects the odor of burned marijuana. The officers search his car and find one white pill identified as hydrocodone and Tylenol and another pill identified as Zanax.
Thursday, January 28
7:16 am Police respond to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W in which a vehicle slid on ice and struck a boulder on the edge of the bus turnaround on Peck Road. Vehicle towed. No injuries.
8:38 am Police respond to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Laurel Avenue and Elm Street. No injuries.
8:56 am Police respond to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W South. No injuries.
9:47 am Police respond to a report of a fox or a coyote walking down Main Street. Nothing found.
11:41 am Police investigate a report of several cats living in an abandoned residence on Mineral Springs Road and contact the SPCA to help resolve the situation.
2:50 pm Police respond to a report of an emotionally disturbed 9-year-old.
6:42 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver for driving without a license on Route 32 and impound his vehicle.
9:32 pm Police respond to Cornwall hospital for a report of a emotionally disturbed patient.
Friday, January 29
8:21 am Police charge 45-year-old Michael Alkobi, of Highland Mills, with driving with a suspended registration and with driving without a license plate displayed after stopping his truck on Route 32.
8:30 am Police respond to a report of a stop sign on Pleasant Hill Road that had been hit with a paint ball gun.
9:52 am Police issue a ticket to a driver on Angola Road for not wearing a seat belt.
10:21 am Police issue a ticket to a driver on Angola Road for having an obstructed view.
4:30 pm Police advise a group of disorderly juveniles on Willow Avenue.
11:50 pm Police charge 29-year-old Delfino Toribio, of Harriman, with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, with a violation of the open container law, speeding an driving without a license after he was stopped on Route 32.
