Sunday, August 19
9:55 p.m.  Police respond to a report of subjects sleeping in a wooded area near Curie Road and find that the subjects are biking from NYC to Canada and stopped to sleep for the evening.

Monday, August 20
5:28 p.m.  Police arrest Kyrell Saunders, 16, of Salisbury Mills, for criminal possession of stolen property greater than $3,000, a felony.

5:36 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a domestic dispute between a husband and wife.

6:11 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Orrs Mill Road.

6:58 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a no proof of insurance to a 28-year-old male from New Windsor.

8:49 p.m.  Police investigate a report of the removal of a small candy machine from the laundromat at Cornwall Plaza.

9:35 p.m.  Police arrest Cory Mann, 16,  of Washingtonville, for criminal possession of stolen property greater than $3,000, a felony.


Tuesday, August 21
8:13 a.m.  Police respond to a domestic dispute between a brother and sister about access to an apartment.

1:17 p.m.  Police arrest Michael Scott, 43, of Cornwall, for larceny after a CVS employee witnessed him allegedly take a bag of combs and two bottles of cologne from the store.

4:05 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident at the traffic circle.

4:41 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a speeding red car driving in the area of Erin Court.

6:00 p.m.  Police respond to a report of harassing phone calls, contact the caller, and tell her to cease calling.

8:33 p.m.  Police respond to a report of noise on Clinton Avenue and tell a group of juveniles to keep it down.

8:37 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a person trying to sell DVD movies to people on Laurel Avenue and advise the subject that he could be charged with soliciting without a permit.

9:48 p.m.  Police respond to Cornwall hospital for a report of a disorderly patient.


Wednesday,  August 22
6:37 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a man’s 18-speed bicycle found at Lee Road School and put the bike in storage.

10:55 a.m.  Police respond to a report of harassing phone calls received by a woman approximately six times a week for a month.

1:32 p.m.  Police take a report of credit card fraud involving the use of a person’s card number, not the card itself, to make a purchase in California and an online purchase.

1:34 p.m.  Police issue a summons for driving 58 mph in a 40 mph zone to a 35-year-old female from New Windsor.

2:19 p.m.  Police take a report of a purse lost or taken from a woman’s car while parked at Hannaford’s in Vail’s Gate.

5:40 p.m.  Police issue a parking ticket to a van left on the side of Route 32 and have the car towed.

8:06 p.m.  Police respond to a noise complaint on Clinton Street.

8:25 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation to an 18-year-old male from the Bronx.


Thursday, August 23
10:52 a.m.  Police respond to an automatic fire alarm, enter through the front door and see smoke throughout the residence.  Smoke is coming from the kitchen where a pot had been left on a stove burner.  Police turn off the burner.

3:41 p.m.  Police observe a suspicious vehicle parked on Route 32 and interview subjects who said they are friends.  The male admits to a past history with prostitutes and the female admits to a past history in that profession.  Both are advised and sent on their way.

8:15 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 21-year-old male from Newburgh.

8:37 p.m.  Police observe a male and his 3-year-old son getting ready to walk on Route 9W.  The man says he has no money for a cab home and police give him a courtesy ride.

10:25 p.m.  Police arrest Earl Bell, 30, of Newburgh, on a bench warrant.


Friday, August 24
1:30 a.m.  Police issue two summons to a vehicle parked the wrong way on Main Street with an expired registration sticker.

1:52 a.m.  Police respond to a reported suicide attempt by a 40-year-old female from Gardiner.

2:30 a.m.  Police observe a vehicle parked at the hiker’s parking lot on Otterkill Road and advise subjects to leave.

9:19 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violationon Tara Drive  to a 23-year-old male from Wurtsboro.

10:11 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation of Route 32 to a 44-year-old male from Newburgh.

10:33 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 19-year-old female from Newburgh.

10:40 a.m.  Police receive a found blue and white bicycle.

2:38 p.m.  Police issue a summons for driving 54 mph in a 30 mph zone on Route 32 to a 75-year-old woman from Cupertino, CA.

4:01 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 94.

8:40 p.m.  Police respond to a suicide attempt involving a woman who said she took pills, drank alcohol and inhaled exhaust fumes.  She is taken to the hospital by E.M.S.

9:46 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 20-year-old male from the Bronx.

10:38 p.m.  Police arrest Nestor Gonzalez, 36, of Newburgh on an arrest warrant and give him a summons for driving with a suspended license.


Saturday, August 25
8:29 a.m.  Police arrest Deborah Heater, a 46-year-old homeless woman, for trespassing after she entered a residence.

2:00 p.m.  Police take a report from a woman who said she discovered her wallet missing on August 10, 2007.  She then received an envelope addressed to her that contained all the contents from her missing wallet except the wallet and a white gold diamond ring.  A letter was enclosed that read:  “I’m sorry I took your stuff.  Please forgive me?”  The letter was handwritten and also had a heart and xxx’s drawn on it.
