Monday, August 13
9:13 a.m.  Police take a report from a resident of Sheldon Drive that her two vehicles were damaged while parked in her driveway between July 24 and 28, 2007.

11:22 a.m.  Police investigate a report of unattended children and speak with teenage siblings and parents.

7:36 p.m.  Police respond to a report of juveniles breaking glass in the area of Maple Street.  Two females state they did break a glass bottle and police tell them to clean it up.

8:30 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a possible suicide attempt and find a subject who says he may have taken too much of his medication and he is taken to Cornwall hospital by COVAC.

9:09 p.m.   Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 33-year-old male from Highland Mills.

9:27 p.m. Police issue summonses on Route 32 to three male motorcycle drivers from Monroe, ages 20-to-21.

9:27 p.m.  Police charge Christopher Maher, 26, of Monroe with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and his motorcycle was impounded.  He was also issued two vehicle and traffic summonses.


Tuesday, August 14, 2007
2:09 a.m.  Police interview two people acting suspicious in the area of the traffic circle and find a 40 oz. bottle of Colt 45 malt liquor.  None admitted to knowing about the alcohol but two girls age 13 and 14 explain they are having a sleep over at one of the girl’s homes and says her parents are aware they are out.

2:45 a.m.  Police give a ride to a man walking on Route 32 who says he is going from the Beacon train station to Highland Mills.

7:49 a.m.  Police issue two summonses for failing to signal and for operating without a license to a 27-year-old male from Cornwall.

8:23 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 34-year-old female from new Windsor.

8:34 a.m.  Police issue a summons four vehicle and traffic violations on Route 32 to a 48-year-old male from Dingman’s Ferry.

8:40 a.m.  Police issue a summons for an expired insurance sticker on Route 32 to a 26-year-old male from Monsey.

8:52 a.m.  Police issue three summonses to a truck on Route 32 for transportation department violations to a 40-year-old male from Cuddebackville.

8:59 a.m.  Police issue two summonses on Route 32 to a truck for transportation department violations to a 23-year-old male from Monroe.

9:26 a.m.  Police issue four summonses on Route 32 to a truck for transportation department violations to a 30-year-old male from Monroe.

10:18 a.m.  Police issue a summonses for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 41-year-old male driver of a Mack Truck.

10:35 a.m.  Police issue two summonses to a 69-year-old male driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Route 32.

10:50 a.m.  Police issue a summons to a 44-year-old male driver from Bridgewater for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32.

11:18 a.m.  Police investigate a report from a woman who says her cellphone and $25 in cash were taken from her bag while at the town park the previous afternoon.

11:42 a.m.  Police issue four summonses for transportation and vehicle and traffic violations to a 45-year-old male driver of a Mack Truck from North Arlington.

Police respond to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles on Route 94.

1:42 p.m.  Police issue a summons for driving 58 mph in a 40 mph zone to a 35 year-old female from New Windsor.

2:50 p.m.  Police respond to a report from the manager of the CVS store that two individuals are no longer allowed on the store property due to suspicion that the pair stole and tried to pass forged medical prescriptions.

4:45 p.m.  Police charge David Gray, 50, of Newburgh, and a driver with Dr. Bird’s Taxi, with operating with a suspended license.

5:40 p.m.  Police issue a summons to a vehicle without a valid inspection sticker parked at the train station.

6:00 p.m. .  Police issue a summons to a vehicle without a valid inspection sticker parked at the train station.

11:09 p.m.  Police investigate a report of a runaway teenage girl who is located by Poughkeepsie police at 9 a.m. the next morning.


Wednesday, August 15
2:25 a.m.  Police assist medical personnel with a highly intoxicated patient with a hand laceration in the emergency room of Cornwall hospital.

9:35 a.m.  Police investigate a report of the passing of a bad check with insufficient funds.

2:19 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a driving 55 mph in a 30 mph zone on Otterkill Road to a 22-year-old male from Washingtonville.

3:12 p.m.  Police take a report of two credit cards that had been fraudulently opened in the name of people unaware of the accounts.  The two accounts had accrued charges over $2,000. and the victims were working with the FTC to investigate.

6:58 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a man panhandling at the Cornwall Public Library and sent him on his way.

8:17 p.m.  Police issue a summons for driving 50 mph in a 30 mph zone on Mill Street to an 18-year-old female from Cornwall.

9:51 p.m.  Police advise a group of juveniles at Willow Avenue Elementary School to leave the property.

10:09 p.m.  Police observe a large group of juveniles creating a disturbance at the Highland Engine Company and in the roadway of the traffic circle, almost causing a vehicle to strike them.  The youths say they are having a donut fight, throwing donuts at each other.  They are strongly advised and asked to pick up the entire mess, then leave the area.


Thursday, August 16
8:50 a.m.  Police issue five summons for expired inspections to five vehicles parked at the train station.

9:19 a.m.  Police respond to a report of an injured deer that had gotten stuck on the porch of a residence, observe the animal’s wounds, and dispatch it.

9:20 a.m.  Police issue summonses to two vehicles parked at the train station without an inspection sticker.

9:35 a.m.  Police respond to a domestic dispute between a couple arguing about a car.  The male was non-compliant with officer and said that his parents were law enforcement officers.

11:35 a.m.  Police assist Highlands police in stopping a silver Rolls Royce and two other vehicles that had been seen speeding on Route 9W.  Two drivers were field arrested for reckless driving and a third was issued a summons for speed in excess of posted limit.

11:48 a.m.  Police investigate the forgery of several checks taken from the nightstand of a female resident who told police that her grandson had a drug dependency and she suspects him of forging the checks that totaled $750.

4:11 p.m.  Police respond to a domestic dispute in which a man said his mother-in-law slapped him.

5:25 p.m.  Police respond to an accident on Route 9W.

6:45 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a shotgun that had been found hidden in a closet following a recent sale of the property.

9:14 p.m.  Police respond to a report of noisy juveniles and tell them to be quieter.

9:41 p.m.  Police arrest Whitney Burris, 17, of Monroe, on an active warrant from the town of Cornwall for possession of stolen property valued more than $3,000.

10:48 p.m.  Police arrest three males under the age of 21 who were found drinking beer on Bridge Street.  A fourth person, a female, who was not seen with alcohol, was escorted home by a police officer.


Friday, August 17
11:14 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32 involving a village of Cornwall-on-Hudson DPW vehicle and an SUV.

8:32 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 40-year-old male from Highland Falls.

9:08 p.m.  Police charge Gregory Knorr, 40, of Cornwall, with driving with a suspended license.

11:34 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation to a 35-year-old male from New Castle.


Saturday, August 18
12:21 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 34-year-old male from Cornwall.

12:30 p.m.  Police issue a summons for an expired inspection sticker to a 60-year-old male from Cornwall.

12:37 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 22-year-old female from New Windsor.

12:45 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 21-year-old male from New Windsor.

5:32 p.m.  Police issue a summons for driving 71 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 9W to a 31-year-old male from Corona.

7:33 p.m.  Police respond to a report of fireworks going off and find out it was shots fired and speak to a person regarding that.

8:38 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a broken tail light to a 53-year-old male from Fort Montgomery.


Sunday, August 19
12:47 a.m.  Police advise people at a party to turn the music down.

7:06 a.m.  Police issue a summons to a car parked on the sidewalk on Union Street.

8:15 a.m.  Police respond to a report of vandalism to a vehicle parked at the hikers’ trail on Taylor Road and find that the vehicle’s rear window had been smashed by a large rock and the vehicle dented in two places.

10:55 a.m.  Police issue a summons for driving 72 mph in a 45 mph zone to a 38-year-old male from White Plains.

3:03 p.m.  Police respond to a report of criminal mischief at a residence on Angola Road where a sliding glass door had been shattered.

3:18 p.m.  Police respond to a report of criminal mischief to two vehicles parked in the driveway of a residence on Continental Road.  One tire on each of the vehicles had been cut with a sharp object.
