Monday, January 11
No summonses or arrests
Tuesday, January 12
Police issue a ticket for speeding in a school zone on Hudson Street.
Police issue a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign at River Avenue and Shore Road.
Police respond to a father-daughter domestic dispute.
Wednesday, January 13
2:23 am Police charge 23-year-old Heather Lynch of New Windsor with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and with a broken headlight on her vehicle.
Police assist a subject who said he was chased into village police headquarters by a group of school children who were chasing him down Hudson Street. Police transport the subject to his home.
11:50 pm Police respond to a mother-daughter domestic dispute.
Thursday, January 14
Police issue a traffic ticket to a driver on Hudson Street.
4:51 pm Police issue a traffic ticket to a driver on Route 218.
11:17 pm Police issue a ticket for a lighting violation to a vehicle on Hudson Street.
11:34 pm Police respond to a domestic dispute at Cornwall hospital.
Friday, January 15
10:00 am Police arrest Stephen Prokosch, age 34, of Newburgh, on a warrant issued for second degree harassment.
2:20 pm Police investigate a report of harassing phone calls received by a subject.
9:30 pm Police dispatch an injured deer in a resident’s yard.
Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Curie Road.
Saturday, January 16
No summonses or arrests.
Sunday, January 17
1:11 pm Police investigate a report of a rabid raccoon that was standing on its hind legs hissing at cars as they drove past on Clark Avenue and Hudson Street. Animal was gone on arrival.
2:37 pm Police issue a ticket to a driver for failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk on Hudson Street.
Monday, January 18
Police observed a group of juveniles kicking a traffic cone into the roadway on Hudson Street near St. Thomas School and speak with the subjects. At 5:20 pm the same group is reported to have stolen a stop sign traffic cone from the DB Mart and put it in the street where it was run over. Police speak with the parents of all three juveniles.
9:39 pm Police respond to a motor vehicle accident near Cornwall Library in which a vehicle was driven up a hill and into a tree. The elderly female in the vehicle appeared uninjured .
1:17 pm Police take a report of a harassing phone call received by the DPW supervisor.
