Police Blotter: August 5-11, 2007

Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department

Sunday, August 5
8:28 a.m.  Police respond to a mother/son dispute and assist son to hospital for evaluation.

1:08 p.m.  Police respond to a complaint of kids giving the manager a hard time at Cumberland Farms.

2:05 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Main Street to a 20-year-old female from New City.

3:57-4:21 p.m.  Police issue summonses to three vehicles parked without a permit at the riverfront.

10:32 p.m.  Police issue summonses to two vehicles parked at the riverfront.


Monday, August 6
3:48 p.m.  Police issue a summons to a vehicle parked without a permit at the riverfront.

10:30 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a suspicious person walking southbound on the northbound side of Route 9W near Mountain Road.  The male identified himself and said that he was lost, sick and suicidal.  Police transport the subject the Cornwall hospital.


Tuesday, August 7
12:10 a.m.  Police respond to a complaint of a group of teens making noise in the municipal parking lot and strongly advise them to move along.

9:46 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a group of juveniles behind the Cornwall-on-Hudson elementary school making a lot of noise.  The group is advised to leave the area.


Wednesday, August 8
8:33 a.m.  Police investigate the larceny of purse from a vehicle parked overnight on Lafayette Street and find the purse and all of its contents except an ATM card and a social security card in the brook along Boulevard.

10:18 a.m.  Police respond to a report of vandalism to two grave markers in Willow Dell cemetery.

12:15 p.m.  Police respond to a complaint from the Department of Public Works that a female  resident became irate when the DPW workers trimmed overhanging branches in front of her house.  Because of her anger, they stopped the job.  The next morning the DPW workers found a sign on the tree saying “If you cut off my branches I will cut off your balls.”

12:17 p.m.  Police find a gray metallic bike in the fire department parking lot and put it in storage.

1:04 p.m.  Police investigate a report of larceny from two vehicles parked on River Avenue.  An umbrella and some change were missing from one car and part of an XM stereo was removed from a second vehicle.

1:13 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of Walden Savings Bank.

11:09 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a tinted window violation to a 17-year-old male from Cornwall-on-Hudson.


Thursday, August 9
11:16 p.m.  Police issue a summons to a 17-year-old male from New Windsor for violatin the restrictions of a D-J license.


Friday, August 10
9:46 a.m.  Police investigate a case of criminal mischief at Cornwall-on-Hudson elementary school in which the school’s front door had been smashed with a water bottle.

2:01 p.m.  Police investigate a report of criminal mischief at a residence on Academy Avenue in which a gas grill handle and a screen house were damaged.

4:18 p.m.  Police charge Bujar Krasniqi, 32, of Cornwall, with driving with a suspended license.

5:56 p.m.  Police find several empty beer cans in the woods off of Boulevard in an area that had been checked a day early when no cans were present.

6:27 p.m.  Police issue a summons for an unregistered vehicle to an 18-year-old female from Goshen.

7:15 p.m.  Police respond to a report of two males looking into vehicles in the municipal parking lot and speak to two teens who stating they were just looking at a BMW.

10:13 p.m.  Police investigate a report of a simple assault involving five male teens at Cumberland Farms.  Open investigation.

10:22 p.m.  Police find several empty beer cans behind Cornwall-on-Hudson elementary school.


Saturday, August 11
11:00 a.m.  Police respond to a report of disturbance between a man and woman at a residence.

4:53 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a male who threw a drink at the window of Cumberland Farms after he was denied cigarettes without proper ID.

11:30 p.m.  Police charge19-year-old Eric Hansford, of Cornwall, with illegal possession of alcohol after he was observed drinking a Corona beer behind Cornwall-on-Hudson elementary school.
