General News: Kane to Run for Village Trustee
January 02, 2010
Cornwall-on-Hudson resident James Kane started his new year on a political note, sending out a letter announcing that he is running for village trustee in the municipal election in March. Kane wrote a letter about his candidacy in which he describes his interest in controlling spending while providing necessary infrastructure improvements in the village.
Kane, a lawyer who has lived in the village since 2001, lost hid first bid for trustee in 2009, when he was one of five people running for two seats. This year, the seats held by first-term trustees Rick Gioia and Barbara Gosda will be filled in the general election.
Candidates must gather at least 75 signatures on a petition before their names can appear on the ballot. No other candidates have publicly announced their candidacy yet.
