2:00 PM – Timothy Mumford Poetry Awards Ceremony
All are welcome to join us in the Library Community Room to celebrate the award winners of the Timothy Mumford Poetry Contest. Winners will be announced in the 5 categories, ages 5-18. We will also announce a “Best Overall Poem” from all the entries.
MONDAY 4/25/22
11:00 AM – Virtual Creative Writers Group
Join a virtual meeting of the library’s Creative Writers Group. Register via the library’s online calendar. Zoom links will be distributed on the Friday before the meeting. It will be a recurring link, usable for all Creative Writers’ meetings.
4:30 PM – Chess Time
Enjoy a match with a friend or play with someone new. This program is open to all ages and skill levels. An instructor will be available to help. Registration is required and space is limited. Register via the library’s online calendar one week prior to the program.
TUESDAY 4/26/22
9:30 or 10:30 AM – Family Story Time
Enjoy a story time at the library with your whole family. In-person, outside, weather permitting. Please register your children via the library’s online calendar. Registration opens one week prior to the program.
4:30 PM – Readzza Readzza Book Group
Book Pick: Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston
Grades 5-8. Register in person when you pick up a copy of the book at the library
WEDNESDAY 4/27/22
7:00 PM – Great Decisions: Session 3 – “Russia and the U.S.”
Join America’s largest discussion program on world affairs created by the Foreign Policy Association. This discussion will be facilitated by Dr. Robert Person, Associate Professor of International Relations at West Point. A course Briefing Book is available to purchase at the library ($22); a course-reserve copy will be available for review at the reference desk. Register via the library’s online calendar.
8:30 PM – Virtual Out & About Book Group
Book Pick: Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney
Just because we aren’t necessarily out and about doesn’t mean we can’t still have a great book group. Register via the library’s online calendar, pour yourself a drink and join in for this fun virtual book discussion. Digital eBooks and eAudiobooks are available through the Libby app. Hard copies are available to pick up at the library.

Join the Hudson Valley’s sweetest book group for a virtual discussion. Register via the library’s online calendar. Digital eBooks and eAudiobooks are available on Libby; hard copies are available to pick up at the library. A zoom link will be sent out to registrants on the day of the meeting.

11:00 AM – April Prank Pop-Up Boxes
Learn how to make this crazy yet clever craft and fool your friends any time of the year. Craft program for adults, though anyone 12 and up is welcome. Register via the library’s online calendar.
SATURDAY 4/30/22
1:00 PM – Seed Starting for Kids
Orange County Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will teach kids how to start vegetables and flowers from seed. All materials will be provided. In person, outside on the library portico. Register via the library’s online calendar.
