Saturday, July 14
Police charge 48-year-old Debra List, of New Windsor, with petit larceny for stealing jewelry from a friend and selling it to a jeweler.

Sunday, July 15
1:12 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 36-year-old female from Monroe.

1:35 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 35-year-old male from Blooming Grove.

1:52 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 19-year-old male from Yonkers.

3:41 a.m.  Police investigate a report of fireworks exploding at the Willow Avenue elementary school.

10:30 a.m.  Police issue two summonses to a 40-year-old  man driving with an Ecuadorian license on Route 9W,  one for speeding and one for driving without a valid license.

2:31 p.m.  Police issue a summons to a 41-year-old male from Cornwall for driving 72 mph in a 55 mph zone.

3:01 p.m.  Police respond to a complaint of youths at the post office, spoke with the group and saw no damage done to the building.

4:40 p.m.  Police issue two summonses to a 29-year-old male from Yonkers who stopped in the left turn lane on Route 32 and Quaker Avenue and attempted to make a complete u-turn.

6:33 p.m.  Police charge a 40-year-old female from Gardiner with reckless endangerment, discharge of a firearm, and harassment after responding to a domestic dispute on Shore Drive in Cornwall.  The report said that the incident involved a loaded weapon and a suicidal male.  Several units of local and state police responded, surrounded the house and the male suspect walked out of the garage and was placed in handcuffs.  The female was located in the hallway and she threw the shot gun shells down the stairs and was handcuffed.

Monday, July 16
9:42 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a hit-and-run accident on Route 9W.

9:47 a.m.  Police respond to a minor motor vehicle accident on Hasbrouck Avenue.


10:19 a.m.  Police take possession of a mountain bike found abandoned on First Street and Hudson Street in the village of Cornwall-on-Hudson.

4:14 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a sick raccoon on Long Hill Road and dispatch it.

6:07 p.m. Police issue a summons to a 21-year-old male from Monroe for driving on Route 32 while talking on a cell phone.

8:42 p.m.  Police respond to Grand Street for a medical call and find a man laying in a ditch who said he was too drunk to get up and requested transport to the hospital.

10:56 p.m.  Police observe two cars parked at Lee Road school and find several kids playing manhunt.  Police tell them to move on.

11:32 p.m.  Police charge an 18-year-old male from New Windsor with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving without insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle and with a tinted windshield and a broken light.

Tuesday, July 17
12:26 a.m.  Police respond to a noise complaint and find four 15- and 16-year-old females and two 16- and 19-year-old males in a home.  The police is told that the boys are leaving and the parents are due home soon.

5:38 a.m.  Police respond to a report of an injured deer on Route 9W and dispatch the deer.

6:37 a.m.  Police issue two summonses for vehicle and traffic violations on Route 32 to a 45-year-old male from Newburgh.

10:17 a.m.  Police investigate a report of a larceny from a barn on Angola Road of eight paddles.  Victim believes he knows possible suspect.

12:20 P.M.  Police remove a deceased fawn from the roadway on Mailler Avenue.

2:26 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W that occurred when one driver swerved to avoid a biker.

4:14 p.m.  Police arrest Nadine Begley, 22, of Highland Falls, on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop.

6:29 p.m. Police charge Donald Doherty, 19, of Newburgh, with driving with a suspended license and with two vehicle and traffic violations.

7:22 p.m.  Police respond to a domestic dispute involving a 15-year-old girl and her parents.

Wednesday, July 18

1:24 a.m.  Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 9W and discharge the animal.

2:13 p.m.  Police respond to a report of five juveniles at the Cornwall Middle School, three on the roof, one in a tree and one near the base of the tree.  The parents of the youths, ages 12 to 15, are contacted.

5:14 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation to a 50-year-old male from New Windsor.

6:47 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation to a 44-year-old male from New Windsor.

7:35 p.m.  Police take a report of a cell phone lost at Prima Pizza on July 14.

8:36 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation to 23-year-old male from W. Nyack.

9:07 p.m.  Police respond to the Highland Engine Fire House parking lot for a 15-year-old male who may have broken his leg while skateboarding.  The youth is transported to Cornwall hospital.  Police show the youth’s companion a sign stating “No trespassing, roller blading, bike riding by order of the Board of Commissioner” and the youth replies “It doesn’t say skateboarding.”

11:50 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W  to a 19-year-old male from Cornwall.

Thursday, July 19
5:15 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 o an 18-year-old male from Cornwall.

5:35 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Angola Road in which a driver slid into a ditch.

6:22 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 26-year-old from Highland.

6:47 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Riley Road to a 49-year-old female from New Windsor.

10:28 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 19-year-old male from Salisbury Mills.

10:39 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 19-year-old female from New Windsor.

11:35 p.m.   Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 55-year-old male from Fort Montgomery.

Friday, July 20
12:54 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 31-year-old male from Chester.

9:20 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Shore Drive.

2:32 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in the Cornwall Plaza parking lot.

5:53 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Hazen Street.

7:57 p.m.  Police respond to a  reported man down a bicycle and find a man who says he was operating a cell phone while riding his bicycle and fell over.

8:07 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 54-year-old male from New Windsor.

8:45 p.m.   Police issue two summonses for vehicle and traffic violations on Route 9W to a 52-year-old male from Newburgh.

9:40 p.m.   Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9 to a 35-year-old male from Spring Valley.

9:52 p.m.   Police issue a summons for using a cell phone while driving on Route 9W to a 50-year-old female from Cornwall.

10:04 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 25-year-old male from Newburgh.

11:02 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 17-year-old male from Vernon.

Saturday, July 21
1:29 a.m.   Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 19-year-old male from Monroe.

11:37 a.m.   Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 42-year-old female from Monroe.

4:58 p.m.   Police issue a summons for an expired inspection sticker to a vehicle parked at the Salisbury Mills train station.

6:55 p.m.  Police respond to a dispute between a homeowner and a painting contractor.

4:03 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a man struck by a yellow pick-up truck while he was riding his bicycle on Route 94.  Further investigation suggests that bicyclist was not hit but that his wheel had fallen apart.

10:19 p.m.  Police observe profanity etched into the side of an air conditioner at Willow Avenue school.
