November 30
7:26 a.m. Police investigate a report of a stolen penguin ornament taken overnight from a lawn on Russell Street. The three-foot tall tinsel/metal penguin carried a second penguin on its back and both were wearing scarves that were dropped when the suspect apparently dropped as he/she fled. A small tree was also ripped out of the lawn as the suspect fled.
10:07 a.m. Police investigate another report of a missing ornament, this one a six-foot tall inflatable Santa with a sleigh and reindeer that was taken overnight from a residence on Jaeger Drive.
10:42 a.m. Police investigate a report of black and blue spray paint scrawled on the modular classroom at the Willow Avenue Elementary School. An exterior wooden ballast was also damaged.
2:49 p.m. Police investigate a report of an off-road motorcycle taken from a storage area where it was stored from 9/1/09 to 10/31/09.
5:33 p.m. Police charge an 18-year-old male from Cornwall with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after he allegedly engaged in fighting and “tumultuous” behavior on Willow Avenue.
Tuesday, December 1
10:23 a.m. Police assist the village police with an emotionally disturbed subject.
4:21 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 32.
4:28 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Orrs Mills Road. The victim is transported to Cornwall hospital and the vehicle is towed.
5:15 p.m. Police take part in a president motorcade detail.
7:50 p.m. Police investigate a report of a vehicle that had been parked on a pullout on Route 32 by the owner who caught the bus to NYC and on return, found the vehicle had been stolen.
Wednesday, December 2
5:30 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 32.
6:50 a.m. Police respond to a deer vs motor vehicle accident on Angola Road.
8:05 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on I-87.
4:44 p.m. Police investigate a report of a burglary on Highland Avenue.
6:26 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with personal injury on Route 0W and Continental Road.
6:41 p.m. Police assist other police departments in stopping and detaining a suspect on North Street. (See story)
Thursday, December 3
11:50 p.m. Police investigate two cases of reported larceny from vehicles on Mine Hill Road.
5:51 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 9W.
6:28 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.
9:03 p.m. Police investigate a report of a damaged fence on Holloran Road.
9:35 p.m. police respond to a one car motor vehicle rollover on Interstate 87.
Friday, December 4
11:42 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a driver on Route 94 for driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone.
11:56 a.m. Police respond to a complaint of a dog barking for four hours at a residence and contact dog control officer to advise subjects.
12:13 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Harold Avenue.
1:23 p.m. Police take a report of aggravated harassment.
2:59 p.m. Police respond to a boyfriend-girlfriend domestic dispute.
9:03 p.m. Police respond to a report of disorderly juveniles on Academy Avenue and advise subjects.
9:54 p.m. Police respond to an animal complaint.
Saturday, December 5
2:07 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 9W.
3:15 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 9W in which a drivet skidded on snow and hit an earth embankment.
4:21 p.m. Police respond a report of vehicle in a ditch on Mineral Springs Road and assist driver.
5:34 p.m. Police respond to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Angola Road.
6:09 p.m. Police respond to multiple disabled vehicles due to snowy weather conditions on Route 32 and 9W.
Sunday, December 6
10:42 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Canterbury Lane.
6:05 p.m. Police respond to a report of a mailbox on Angola Road that had been destroyed.
6:28 p.m. Police investigate a report of screams from the Mailler Avenue cemetery without finding any problems.
8:21 p.m. Police take a report of a missing person.
