To the Editor:
The Hudson Valley Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (HVSPCA) hosted its first Santa Paws event on Sunday, November 22 from noon to 5:00 at the New Windsor Community Center.
In spite of a few early mishaps like two malfunctioning printers, a lost Santa beard and a Santa who was delayed in traffic, our event was a big success. The proceeds from the pictures, bake sale, poinsettias and a 50/50 raffle totaled $1,278.50—all to help shelter animals!
We want to thank Matt Veronesi, the director of the New Windsor Recreation Dept. who graciously allowed us to hold the event at the community center at no cost, photographers Lou and Lia Bedinotti of Bedinotti Photo and Tom Doyle of Cornwall who donated their time and expertise to take stunning pictures of all the pets with Santa, the staff and volunteers of the HVSPCA who tirelessly planned and organized the event, and, of course, the friends and supporters of the HVSPCA who attended. We thank you all and invite you to next year’s event. We promise it will be bigger and better.

Treasurer of the HVSPCA
