The village of Cornwall-on-Hudson has hired two new part-time employees and two technical consultants. On Monday, the trustees approved the appointment of Bruce Yancewicz to the position of part-time building inspector. Yankowich, who is a resident of Montgomery where he also serves as a part-time building inspector, will replace Bill Lee, who retired from the position last month.
The village police department was also given the green light to hire a part-timer. Police officer George Patsalos will return to the department where he was once employed. Patsolas also served in the town of Cornwall police department, where he was the DARE Officer in 2007 and 2008. Patsalos currently works part-time in the Fishkill police department.
On the technical side, the village board approved a proposal to hire Vinny Keller, a detective in the City of Newburgh police department, to consult with the village police on its information technology (IT) system, which had been maintained by former police chief Charles Williams.
Trustees also approved Robin Hastey, a village resident and webmaster, to maintain the village’s website (www.cornwall-on-hudson.org).
