Monday, May 28
1 a.m. Police investigate a report of a burglary of a house for sale in which a video game and laptop computer were missing.

6:03 a.m. Police on patrol at the middle school observes fresh graffiti on the south side of the building and on a refrigerator cooler. Police report that the graffiti appears to be the same suspect as the prior night when graffiti was found in the town park.

7:14 a.m. Police respond to a report of a disorderly mental health patient at Cornwall hospital.

9:21 a.m. Police investigate a report of a patient at Cornwall hospital who walked out of the hospital in a hospital gown, stepped into a taxi that was waiting while the driver went inside to find his passenger, and drove off. An hour and a half later the taxi was recovered on William Street in Newburgh. Later that afternoon, the patient returned to the hospital where he was arrested. Police charged Antoine Ford with grand larceny and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

2:30 p.m. Police respond to a domestic dispute.

5:22 p.m. Police respond to a report of a cat killed by loose dogs.

6:26 p.m. Police respond to a mental health call at a group residential home.

7:06 p.m. Police issue a summons to Frank Toto, 17, of Cornwall, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

9:21 p.m. Police issue a summons to Jason Diaz, 20, of Highland Falls, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

10:27 p.m. Police issue a summons to Gregory Lesane, 21, of Newburgh, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

10:35 p.m. Police respond to a report of skateboarders at the middle school and advise subjects to move along.

10:42 p.m. Police issue a summons to Adam Brander, 37, of Monroe, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

Tuesday, May 29
2:04 p.m. Police investigate a report of criminal mischief damage to a Land Rover parked at Cornwall hospital parking lot.

2:08 p.m. Police investigate a report of criminal mischief at a doctor’s office on Elm Street in which an entrance railing was damaged.

3:48 p.m. Police take a report of a license plate missing from a truck belonging to a business at 2 Mill Street.

4:46 p.m. Police respond to a report of a fight between two children. After investigating, police advise both children and parents that the children should no longer socialize with each other.

5:14 p.m. Police respond to an accident with property damage at Cornwall Plaza.

6:23 p.m. Police respond to a report of youths in the child pool. When ordered out of the pool, they advise: “Cornwall was boring and they had nothing else to do.”

Wednesday, May 30
1:27 a.m. Police observe graffiti on the back wall and doors of 55 Quaker Avenue. A follow-up investigation determined the paint had been purchased from the Golden Dollar Store in cans for $1 piece. Store owner agrees to a minimum age of 18 to buy the paint.

6:19 a.m. Police issue two summonses to Carmelo Rufino, 21, of Cornwall, for driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone and for driving without a license.

12:23 p.m. Police respond to a report of a man panhandling at Cornwall Plaza and tell the man to leave the area.

2:05 p.m. Police take a report of two middle school students being harassed by two youths who called them names as they walked home from school on Main Street.

4:46 p.m. Police take a report of a cell phone stolen from a local at the high school.

10:00 p.m. Police issue a summons to Brennan Gasparini, 25, of New Windsor, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

10:00 p.m. Police issue a summons to Daniel Eichele, 22, of Monroe, for a vehicle and traffic violation.


Thursday May 31
1:56 p.m. Police respond to a call of an injured deer with a broken leg and shoot the deer.

4:29 p.m. Police respond to a report of a missing high school age girl who returns two days later.

10:31 p.m. Police issue a summons to Edward Diaz, 22, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

Friday, June 1
2:30 a.m. Police respond to a report of a car that hit a tree on Shore Road and on investigation find a vehicle’s exhaust system on Alder Drive. Police stop a vehicle with damage and a missing exhaust system, and deployed airbags and charge Francis Dimitri, 23, of New Windsor, with unlicensed operation of a vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.

10:27 a.m. Police issue a summons to Aston Morris, 57, of Pine Bush, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

3:19 p.m. Police respond to a report of a bear seen in a backyard on Pelham Drive, moving to Mill Street. No bear found.

7:53 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. car accident on Orrs Mills Road.

10:25 p.m. Police stop a car with only one headlight driving on Route 9W and arrest the driver, Ayda Maria Velesquez, 21, of Newburgh, for possession of a forged ID, driving without a license, failure to use headlights, and lack of insurance.

Saturday, June 2

9:53 a.m. Police respond to a dispute between two contractors and a homeowner.

12:28 a.m. Police respond to a reported hit-and-run in the NYMA parking lot that substantially damaged the parked car.

1:08 p.m. Police issue a summons to Hoon Dong-Yang, 24, of Queens, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

9:10 p.m. Police respond to a harassment report against an ex-boyfriend.

9:49 p.m. Police respond to a report of a solar-powered cross found on a lawn on Maple Street. The officer retrieved the cross, turned it off and returned it to the grave it belonged to in the Mailler Avenue cemetery.

Sunday, June 3
3:22 a.m. Police respond to a report from a homeowner of a male at the door refusing to leave. Subject was highly intoxicated and thought he was at a friend’s home and is escorted home.

5:35 a.m. Police receive a report from a bar patron who said the bartender was calling him names.

2:18 p.m. Police respond to the CVS pharmacy for a report of trespassing and tell suspect John Berger to leave the property.

3:02 p.m. Police respond to a littering report in which a homeowner says someone put six ears of corn into his swimming pool.

8:54 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street.
