Monday, October 12
12:45 p.m. Police arrest four male juveniles and charge them with making graffiti in various locations in Cornwall. (See full story)
3:20 p.m. Police arrest 42-year-old Byron Gregorio, of Spring Valley, for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after he was stopped on Route 32 for having tinted windows on his vehicle.
5:26 p.m. Police arrest Saul Luis, 27, of Newburgh, for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and criminal possession of a hypodermic after he was stopped for having tinted windows on his vehicle on Route 9W.
Tuesday, October 13
8:46 a.m. Police investigate a report of an inflatable “Tigger” removed from the porch of the Butter Hill Day School on Main Street during the previous weekend.
10:05 a.m. Police investigate a report of graffiti drawn on the front steps of a business on Main Street.
12:03 p.m. Police respond to a sewer break at the Chemical Bank on Broadway that caused the bank to fill with methane gas. Employees vacate the premises and the fire department is called.
3:44 p.m. Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Angola Road.
7:00 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 9W and dispatch the injured animal.
7:29 p.m. Police move along a subject who allegedly was asking people for money at Cornwall Plaza.
Wednesday, October 14
1:46 a.m. Police assist village police with an arrest.
3:00 p.m. Police arrest 25-year-old Gerardo Gonzalez, of Newburgh, for petty larceny and possession of stolen property after he allegedly stole perfume products from a factory on Industry Drive.
4:01 p.m. Police arrest a juvenile at Cornwall High School after he allegedly got into a physical altercation with another juvenile.
4:40 p.m. Police respond to a father-son domestic dispute.
7:05 p.m. Police respond to a tenant-tenant dispute over excessive noise.
8:28 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 9W and remove the dead deer from the roadway.
Thursday, October 15
5:53 a.m. Police respond to a rollover motor vehicle accident in which the driver and passenger were able to get out of the vehicle.
7:21 a.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 65 mph in a 45 mph zone of Route 9W.
8:59 a.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 45 mph in a 30 mph zone of Taylor Road.
11:45 p.m. –1;00 a.m. Police issue four traffic tickets to drivers on Route 9W.
Friday, October 16
3:55 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. car accident on Angola Road.
6:00 p.m. Police investigate a report of fraudulent use of a credit card.
7:43 p.m. Police investigate a report of criminal mischief involving paint balls that damaged a residence on Academy Avenue.
9:10 p.m. Police arrest an unidentified 17-year-old female from Monroe for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after stopping her for a traffic violation on Jackson Avenue. She also is ticketed for speeding.
Saturday, October 17
2:49 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Shore Road in Cornwall-on-Hudson in which the driver hit the guardrail near the sewer treatment plant. The operator could not stand but was uncooperative and police followed COVAC to the hospital to assist.
5:03 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a car was reported to have gone into the woods on Route 32.
2:07 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Mineral Springs Road.
3:30 p.m. Police take a complaint of aggravated harassment.
3:59 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Quaker Avenue.
8:40 p.m. Police advise a group of youths hanging out on Halloran Road to lower the volume.
9:00 p.m. Police arrest 46-year-old Gregory Turner, of New Windsor, for DWI following a traffic stop on Route 32. He is also charged with speeding.
10:18 p.m Police canvas the area of Angola Road in response to a noise complaint involving a loud motorcycle.
Sunday, October 18
8:06 a.m. Police assist with traffic for a motor vehicle accident on the top of the mountain.
2:00 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with property damage on Route 94.
3:05 p.m. Police charge an unidentified 16-year-old male with unlawful possession of marijuana after he is found with a small quantity of marijuana at Cornwall Plaza.
8:46 p.m. Police arrest 30-year-old Leonard Wennerberh, of New Windsor, for DWI, refusing a chemical test and tailgating.
