Police Blotter: May 14-20, 2007

Town Police Department

Monday, May 14
10:47 a.m.  Police issue a summons to Minoo Dilmanian, 51, of Great Neck, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

12:16 p.m.  Police take a report of a motor vehicle accident in which one car rolled into another one in the parking lot of Cornwall hospital.

2:47 p.m. Police issue two summonses to Colleen McLoughlin, 21, of Garnerville, for vehicle and traffic violations.

7:04 p.m.  Police respond to Cornwall hospital for a report of criminal mischief in which a patient in the mental health unit slammed herself against a door, shattering the glass and cracking the door.  No charges filed.

7:54 p.m.  Police take a report of a mountain bike stolen from the bike rack at the Cornwall Public Library.

Tuesday, May 15
10:40 a.m.  Police arrest two males on material witness warrants issued by the New Windsor police.

12:04 p.m.  Police find a small white and brown Jack Russell terrier near the Cornwall-on-Hudson elementary school and place it in the dog kennel.

3:06 p.m.  Police respond to an accident on Route 9W in which the driver said he spilled his French fries and the distraction caused him to collide with the concrete median.  No damage other than a flat tire.

4:00 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a bicycle abandoned on Sycamore Drive and place the bike in the storage shed.

5:48 p.m.  Police take a report of a rear window smashed on a vehicle parked behind Willow Avenue school. The owner of the vehicle found a yellow softball on the floor on her rear seat.

7:04 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a cell phone stolen from a student at Cornwall Central High School.  The student tracked down a suspect and the police, after reviewing the details of the incident, spoke with the suspect’s parents.  Afterward, the father of the suspect said that his daughter will be paying for the missing phone.

7:21 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of the Cornwall middle school where a woman’s car received minor damage by a vehicle that left the scene.  Once contacted, the driver of the second vehicle said he was unaware that he had struck the car.

7:23 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Orrs Mills Road.

8:11 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.

8:19 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street.

11:06 p.m.  Police respond to Cornwall hospital’s emergency room for a report of a 24-year-old mentally ill patient who had climbed up on top of a heating and air conditioning vent and refused to come down. Police officers try to talk the patient down, then with the assistance of the fire chief, use force to remove the patient.   Patient is then administered medication by the hospital staff.

Wednesday, May 16
8:58 a.m.  Police respond to Cornwall high school for a fire alarm activation that apparently was caused by a pine cone in a classroom microwave.

9:55 a.m.  Police issue a summons to Peter Fritz, 22, of Midlothian, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

3:45 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 94.  The injured person was transported to Cornwall hospital by a family member.

Thursday, May 17
8:48 a.m.  Police issue a summons to Michael Distefano, 27, of Cold Spring, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

9:49 a.m.  Police issue a summons to Steven Anderson, 56, of Wanaque, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

8:07 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32.

10:51 p.m.  Police issue a summons to James Casey, 48, of Monroe, for pulling an unregistered boat trailer.

Friday, May 18
7:40 a.m.  Police investigate a report of harassment involving juveniles.
