Police Blotter: May 7-14, 2007

Town Police Department
Monday, May 7
10:14 a.m.  Police issue a summons to Fidencio Brajas, 43, of Chestnut Ridge, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

11:25 a.m.  Police respond to the Cornwall post office for reported evidence of  youths hanging out on the loading dock area. No damage to premises but evidence of garbage, caps for caps guns and a cart placed against the rear emergency door.

11:49 a.m. Police arrest Michel Johnson, 25, of Newburgh, for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after the suspect allegedly ripped a metal shelf off the wall in Cornwall hospital’s emergency room and used the metal to rip a mattress.  The suspect left the hospital and was picked up by police as she walked on Route 9W.  On being placed in the police car, she allegedly kicked the rear passenger side window out of the door frame.

2:50 p.m.  Police respond to a report of vandalism, a keying of a vehicle while it was parked in a driveway on Oak Drive.

4:20 p.m.  Police respond to a rear-end accident on Route 32 involving an unoccupied school bus.  No injuries were reported and the bus had a slight dent to the bumper.

5:42 p.m.  Police respond to a call for an ambulance for a person down on Route 32.  Person was a 70 year-old man sleeping midway through a walk from Newburgh to Monroe.

5:54 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a white Isuzu that clipped the side mirror of a village water department vehicle.

8:05 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a purple mountain bike stolen from outside an apartment on Highland Avenue during the previous weekend.

10:01 p.m.  Police arrest Heather Sloan, 28, of New Windsor, for driving with a suspended licence, operating with obstructed vision, and speeding.

Tuesday, May 8
6:30 a.m.  Police respond to an accident involving a deer vs. Porsche in which the car was damaged.

8:25 a.m.  Police investigate to a report of an attempted burglary on Main Street in which a window screen was cut and a layer of glass on a back door was broken.

9:00 Police dispatch a deer that was injured by a vehicle.

12:15 p.m.  Police impound two stolen vehicles that had been abandoned on Manor Drive.

4:32 p.m.  Police respond to a reported physical domestic dispute.

5:45 p.m. Police issue a traffic summons to Radolfo Camacho, the driver of a car that struck a utility pole on Mill Street, snapping the pole in half.  No injuries resulted from the accident.

10:20 p.m.  Police issue a summons to Philip Justi, 30, of New Windsor, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

Wednesday, May 9
9:33 a.m.  Police issue a summons to Umberto Cullaro, 51, of New Windsor, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

2:26 p.m.  Police investigate a report of harassment involving employees of Cornwall hospital.

3:58 p.m.  Police direct traffic for a car fire on Route 9W.

8:56 p.m.  Police issue a summons to Alfred Macitelli, 51, of Walden, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

9:10 P.M.  Police arrest Heather Sloane, 28, of New Windsor for driving with a suspended license, failure to exhibit a valid license, and speeding.

Thursday, May 10
9:55 a.m.  Police investigate a broken window at Foti Flowers on Route 32.

10:33 a.m.  Police issue a summons to Richard Figueroa, 23, of Cornwall, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

3:40 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a dump truck that was entangled in utility wires and secure the area, waiting for Center Hudson crew.


Friday, May 11
5:34 a.m.  Police respond to an alarm three times at the St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital Material Management building and check for possible intruder.

2:52 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32.

Saturday, May 12
8:00 a.m.  Police investigate a report of a wood planter on Broadway that was taken during the night.

9:01 a.m.  Police respond to a  report of a motor vehicle accident on Old Mineral Springs Road involving one vehicle.
1:37 p.m.  Police dispatch two deer struck by a vehicle.

4:58 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle off the road on Route 94.

Sunday, May 13
2:18 a.m. Police dispatch a deer struck by a vehicle.

7:38 a.m.  Police issue a summons to William Schnefel, 36, of Cornwall, for a vehicle and traffic violation.
