Police Blotter: May 6-9, 2007

Village Police Department

Sunday, May 6
12:36 .m. Assist town police to investigate a report of a male at the Cornwall Municipal parking lot possibly attempting to break into cars. Subjects were interviewed, then advised to return to their residences.

9:10 a.m. Police issue to summonses to vehicles parked without a permit at the riverfront.

9:30 a.m. Police receive a brown wallet with six dollars in it that was found in New Windsor and contact the owner, who was glad to get his wallet back.

3:11 p.m. Police issue four summonses to vehicles parked without a permit at the riverfront.

5:27 p.m. Police investigate the circumstances in which a girl was bitten by a dog in the village.

Tuesday, May 8
7:28 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Hudson Street in which a DOT back hoe pulled over to let cars pass when it was struck from behind by a vehicle that fled the scene.

9:12 a.m. Police issue a summons to James Patterson, 23, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

2:27 p.m. Police assist town unit in responding to a heated dispute between two males.

6:48 p.m. Police respond to a report of a possible fight in progress and speak with two juvenile brothers who were roughing around with each other because the younger brother didn’t clean up the older brother’s vehicle.

7:01 p.m. Police respond to the area of Duncan and Ridge Avenues for a report of a fight in progress and find nothing.

Wednesday, May 9
12:47 a.m. Police issue a summons to Brian Moriarty, 19, of New Windsor, for a vehicle and traffic violation.

4:15 p.m. Police respond to the area of Cornwall elementary school for a reported suspicious vehicle in the area talking to juveniles. Unable to locate the vehicle.

8:55 p.m. Police investigate a case of criminal mischief in which a pane of glass on the front door of a house on Idlewild Avenue was broken. Police canvas the area but do not find any witnesses.
