Richard Randazzo won the Democratic spot on the ticket in the race for Orange County Legislature’s 12th District seat. He will face Republican Kevin Hines in the election for the seat being vacated by long-term legislator Alan Seidman, who is retiring.
Randazzo won Tuesday's primary election with 56.5% of the vote. His challenger, first time candidate Robert Fromaget, garnered 43.4% of the vote. A total of 483 voters cast ballots in the 12th district race, which encompasses Cornwall, Blooming Grove and Woodbury.
Randazzo served as supervisor of the town of Cornwall for 20 years. He was defeated last year in his effort to unseat state assemblywoman Nancy Calhoun.
