To the Editor:
On Tuesday, September 15th Primary Day, Democratic Voters will have the opportunity to go to the polls and vote for their candidate for County Legislator in the 12th District. I am the endorsed Democratic Candidate of the Orange County Democratic Party.
Experience does count in government and my twenty three years experience in local government in Cornwall provides me with the understanding of how government works and how to best represent the interests of our residents and taxpayers.
While serving in a leadership position in our community as Cornwall Town Supervisor for twenty of those years I had the pleasure of working with our residents, community groups and organizations and county, state and federal officials providing services and working to address issues important to our community. Balancing the needs of the community with the ability of taxpayers to pay has always been a challenge, but one that we met during those twenty years.
Prior to the creation of the County Executive and Legislature form of county government Orange County was managed by Town Supervisors serving as a Board of Supervisors. The experience of being a Town Supervisor is exactly the kind of experience that will serve me well as your County Legislator. I view county government as a local government just like the town and village I have served in and I will use that experience in Goshen.
I would appreciate your vote on Tuesday to allow me to use my twenty three years of experience to represent you in the Orange County Legislature.
