Monday, March 26
1:26 a.m. Police remove an unmarked mailbox that had been left in the roadway at Continental and Route 9W.
10:14 a.m. Police respond to Cornwall Central High School, along with COVAC, for a male student who reportedly consumed ten 660mg Motrin pills prior to attending school and left a suicide note in his girlfriend’s school locker. The youth is transported to Cornwall hospital.
11:56 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident involving a car vs. turkey on Route 94. Police notify the NY Department of Transportation to remove the animal’s remains.
1:50 p.m. Police issue a summons to Moshe Fekete, 29, of Lakewood, for failure to yield entering a roadway.
2:04 p.m. Police issue a summons to Sandra Mombrum, 20, of Spring Valley, for a vehicle and traffic violation.
2:15 p.m. Police issue two summonses to DG Chapman, 21, of West Point, for two vehicle and traffic violations.
5:11 p.m. Police take a report of a motor vehicle accident in which a car backing up struck another parked vehicle on Main Street.
Tuesday, March 27
9:07 a.m. Police take a report of a mail box at a residence on Ashley Way that had been broken off the post and taken.
9:16 a.m. Police take a report of a driver who was pulling out of his parking spot on Main Street and backed up and struck the front of a vehicle parked behind him.
11:15 a.m. Police issue a summons to Aaron Engenito, 21, of Middlebury, for a vehicle and traffic violation.
11:30 p.m. Police remove a disabled vehicle on Route 9W that had been abandoned by its drivers several hours earlier.
Wednesday, March 28
4:11 p.m. police respond to a report of a dog loose on Main Street, find the dog and transport it to the station, then contact the owner who comes to claim the dog.
Thursday, March 29
5:56 p.m. Police exercise a warrant for Tyler McMillen, 21, of Newburgh, for violation of probation.
Friday, March 30
12:35 a.m. Police assist village police and fire department to locate missing teenager camping on Storm King Mountain who, when found, appeared disoriented.
9:05 a.m. Police respond to a complaint of disorderly behavior between two customers at Dunkin Donuts and ask the pair to leave.
11:28 a..m. Police issue a summons to Courtney Belton, 19, of New Windsor, for driving 80 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 32.
6:12 p.m. Police take an accident report from a driver of a vehicle that was damaged when a bird flew into the front of his vehicle while he was driving on Route 32. The officer observed a dead turkey vulture where the incident occurred.
9:28 p.m. Police advise a group of individuals at the town park that it was closed and all parties left without incident.
10:19 p.m. Police assist a young person sitting on a guard rail at Jackson Avenue who stated he has a heart condition and was having difficulty breathing. He stated he he was out walking and had gone to ShopRite with friends, then left to go home. COVAC is brought in and the subject is transported to the hospital and the child’s mother is contacted to go to the hospital.
Saturday, March 31
7:33 a.m. Police respond to a report of a disorderly patient at the Cornwall hospital emergency room.
8:55 a.m. Police respond to, and resolve, a landlord-tenant dispute on Main Street.
11:35 a.m. Police respond to Cornwall hospital for a report of an unwanted patient who was treated and released and refusing to leave. Police give her a courtesy ride to Newburgh and she later goes back to the hospital to seek further treatment.
2:04 p.m. Police respond to Cornwall hospital for a report of a disorderly male whom police handcuff in an attempt to restrain. Two officers and three security guards restrained the 15-year-old patient onto a hospital bed. Patient had been transported to the hospital from a mental facillity in Goshen where he is staying.
3:25 p.m. Police take in a black lab dog who had been found on Route 32 and notify owner.
4:23 p.m. Police respond to a very minor motor vehicle accident on Angola Road.
5:57 p.m. Police issue a summons to Jasmine Blas, 21, of Danbury, CT., for driving 73 mph in a 45 mph zone on Old Route 32.
6:16 p.m. Police assist a woman having a panic attack in her vehicle on Old Route 32 after she had a fight with her boyfriend. The woman is transported to the emergency room.
Sunday, April 1
8:20 a.m. Police respond to a report of an injured deer on Route 32, find the animal and dispatch it for humane reasons.
9:58 p.m. Police respond to a report of a gas odor in the rear of Chan’s Restaurant. Central Hudson shut down the gas supply and the matter was referred to code enforcement by Fire Chief Hines.
