Thursday, March 29
7:07 p.m. Police respond with COVAC to a residence where a man states that his live-in caregiver is bossing him around. He says he was being treated good but did not want to be bossed. The caregiver says it was necessary to give him orders when changing his clotheres because he must do his part in the procedure. Subject looks to be well cared for and the house and subject clean.
9:28 p.m. Police respond to a report of criminal mischief to find a person in front of their rental house with a lot of the contents of the house in the yard and in the street, some in garbage bags and some cast about. The railing on the porch was broken and looks deliberate to the office. The owners of the house believe the damage was caused by their former tenant who was evicted that morning by the Orange County sheriff.
Friday, March 30
12:02 a.m. Police respond to a report of an 18-year-old male camping overnight on fire trails on Mountain Road. Subject had reportedly gone camping with four high school friends who went home before midnight and who said that the 18-year-old had wandered off by himself. A fire department officer, town police officer , and village police officer searched for the missing youth who was found at 1:33 a.m. by a stream and he was wet, standing in a t-shirt, muttering math equations, and unaware of the location of his backpack or cellphone. Subjected had no memory of events leading to his situation nor of the disappearance of his friends. He said he was not on medication, had not been drinking or using drugs. Subject is taken for evaluation to Cornwall Hospital.
10:13 p.m. Police respond to a report of disorderly youths skateboarding in the village gazebo. Officer finds several youths on the steps of the gazebo and advises them to move along.
Saturday, March 31
2:42 p.m. Police arrest Steven Driesse, 46, of Cornwall, for driving with a suspended license on Shore Road.
3:11 p.m. Police respond to 311 Hudson Street for a report of criminal mischief in which an unknown subject pulled two signs out of the ground the night before.
6:02 p.m. Police tell a group of youths on Hudson Street to move along.
8:08 p.m. Police arrest Oscar Flores, 35, of Newburgh, for failing to answer a summons. The arrest occurred after police spotted an unoccupied vehicle parked at the riverfront and then spotted several subjects walking from the area of the yacht club with fishing poles. Flores, who said he was driving, did not have a license and then police made the arrest.
