General News: Transportation Focus in Orange County
August 20, 2009
If you are interested in the future of transportation in Orange County, a new study is now available for public review at Cornwall Town Hall. The study looks at roadways, transit and development plans in the Newburgh area.
The Orange County Planning Department is inviting the public to review the Newburgh Area Transportation and Land Use Study and to take part in design workshops that will start in October.
You may also visit www.newburghareastudy.info to see the documents. To be added to the mailing list, contact the project team by e-mail: [email protected] or by mail: Newburgh Area Study, Orange County Planning Department, 124 Main Street, Goshen, NY 10924.
Meanwhile, Orange County has created a new website that shows how to get around in the county. The new website – www.transitorange.info – describes the different transit services in and around the county and how to use them. County residents will find detailed information such as route maps, bus and train schedules and links to other resources on the many transit options available in the area.
