Police Blotter: March 11-14, 2007

Village Police

Sunday, March 11
9:15 a.m.  Police remove a large rock from the roadway on Mountain Road.

9:34 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a squirrel in a residence.  The squirrel is inside the furnace and the office makes a noose, takes the front panel off the furnace, catches the squirrel and brings it outside.

1:34 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a skunk acting rabid at the intersection of Hudson and Academy Avenues.  The skunk is located and the officer dispatches it.

11:34 p.m.  Police assist the town of Cornwall police department with a 15-year-old who was sitting in the hallway at town hall and who said he had struck his father in the face during a verbal argument.  The teen’s mother was contacted and she said the two had been arguing about cigarette smoking by the youth and that he had hit her husband in the face but not injured him.  The boy left with his mother.


Monday, March 12
7:02 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in the village.

10:27 a.m. Police respond to Hudson Street for a report of an injured deer. Upon walking up to the deer, it took off with a broken front leg and ran into the woods.

6:07 p.m.  Police investigate a report that two males in a gray sedan and a black Ford Explorer tried to steal a boat chained up in the back yard of a village resident.

8:46 p.m. Police investigate a report of a black Ford Explorer that drove off from the DB Mart without paying for gas.

Tuesday, March 13
4:50 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a group of juveniles on the front steps of the elementary school and advise them to move along.

4:56 p.m.  Police take a report of a motor village accident in the village.

Wednesday, March 14
10:50 a.m.  Police investigate a report of a man who drove off from Cumberland Farms without paying for his gas.

4:49 p.m. Police tell a group of juveniles at Cumberland Farms to move along.

7:32  p.m.  Police investigate a report of criminal mischief in which a resident complained that kids in the neighborhood have been doing different annoying things at her home. Tonight she says three kids banged on her dog and called her names.  Office goes to the home of one child and speaks with the mother of another and both kids apologize to the complainant.
