Sunday, July 19
9:07 a.m.  Police investigate an act of vandalism at the riverfront where three of four windows of a backhoe were smashed with rocks.

2:51 p.m.  Police charge 34-year-old James Lyle, of Cornwall-on-Hudson with driving with a suspended license after he was stopped for making a turn without using a signal.

6:45-9:36 p.m.  Police issue traffic tickets to three drivers on Hudson Street.


Monday, July 20
12:04 a.m.  Police respond to a noise complaint and advise the carnival workers parked behind the elementary school to keep it down.

12:15 a.m. Police respond to a noise complaint on Wood Avenue and advise the party to keep it down.

2:15 a.m. Police respond to a noise complaint and advise the carnival workers parked behind the elementary school to keep it down.

1:11 p.m.  Police issue a parking ticket to a vehicle parked at the riverfront without a permit.

1:18 p.m.  Police respond to a domestic dispute between a mother and daughter.

5:24 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Hudson St. to a 61-year-old male from Cornwall.

6:40 p.m.  Police take possession of a bicycle found at Cornwall-on-Hudson elementary school.

9:05 p.m.  Police respond with taser to assist Cornwall police disarm a man with a knife at the hospital emergency room.  Taser not deployed.


Tuesday, July 21
9:00 a.m.  Police remove an unwanted person from a residence.

4:15 p.m.  Police respond to Cumberland Farms where the manager reports that she saw a man put a jar of mayonnaise in his jacket without paying for it.  Manager does not want to press charges but wants police to advise subject not to return to the store or face trespass charges.

6:05 p.m.  Police assist town police in locating a subject who ran from them.  Subject is located at his home.

8:12 p.m.  Police investigate a report of green paint sprayed on the side of residence with the words “Say No to Dr. B).  Homeowner says he has not had any problems in 20 years of living here.


Wednesday, July 22
12:30 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a disturbance at the DB Mart that involved an unruly vendor seeking payment.

4:02 p.m.  Police issue two parking tickets at Donahue Memorial Park.

4:20 p.m.  Police move along a group of juveniles at the elementary school.

6:49-8:48 p.m.  Police issue four traffic tickets to drivers on Hudson Street.

9:54 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket to a driver on River Avenue.


Thursday, July 23
12:14 a.m.  Police charge three teens with assault in the third degree after they allegedly assaulted a 24-year-old Cornwall-on-Hudson male behind the Cumberland Farms store. (See full story)

7:23 a.m.  Police respond to a complaint of a woman who wanted to press charges against her husband for taking their car when she needed to go to the store.  Police speak with the husband and resolve the matter.

2:16 p.m.  Police arrest Nicole Sudial, 34, of Stony Point, on an outstanding warrant.


Friday, July 24
8:23 a.m.  Police investigate a report of $60 in cash taken from an unlocked vehicle parked overnight on Meadow Avenue.

11:49 a.m.  Police investigate a report of a purse taken from an unlocked vehicle parked overnight on Weeks Avenue.

6:00 p.m.  Police charge 24-year-old Shawn Becker, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, with aggravated harassment after he allegedly left harassing phone messages on the victim’s cell phone.


Saturday, July 25
8:00 p.m  Police charge 21-year-old Kevin Kovak, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, with unauthorized use of a vehicle after he allegedly took the keys to a car and used it without the owner’s permission, striking another vehicle and damaging it while it was in his possession.

10:05 p.m.  Police charge a 17-year-old male from Cornwall with unlawful possession of marijuana after he fled police who were responding to a report of unruly juveniles possibly staging for a fight in the parking lot of St. Thomas church.
