General News: Cornwall Major Softball Team Loses One

Cornwall’s Major Softball team, which is the District 19 champion, lost Monday night 1-0 to Pearl River, the District 18 title holder. The loss puts the team in the elimination round that starts Tuesday evening when the Cornwall players face Brewster at 8 p.m. in South Orangetown.
In Monday’s game, Alex Jurgens had a triple to deep right field for the team’s only hit of the game. Colleen Hogan pitched a wonderful game for Cornwall, throwing a three-hitter.
