Thursday, January 25
10:41 a.m. Police assist town police on a suspicious person call.
1:05 p.m. Police issue a vehicle and traffic violation to Martha Garcia, 25, of Newburgh.
5:04 p.m. Police receive a call from a driver who said his vehicle was stuck due to icy conditions. Call tow truck.
7:56 p.m. Police receive a report that someone, no description available, came to her house posing as a child protection services person on 1/24/07. Complainant says she called C.P.S. and they told her that no one from their agency had been sent to her house and they know nothing of the incident.
Friday, January 26
2:03 a.m. Police find a vehicle parked on the side of the road prior to the tunnel on Reservoir Road. The alarm of the car was on and the vehicle was unoccupied.
8:25 a.m. Police find a golden retriever dog running loose on Dock Hill Road and transport the dog to the town kennel.
1:53 p.m. Police issue a vehicle and traffic summons to Donna Ascenzo, 39, of Washingtonville.
2:02 p.m. Police issue a vehicle and traffic summons to a 17-year-old female of Cornwall-on-Hudson.
2:49 p.m. Police issue a vehicle and traffic summons to Patricia Kulak, 50, of Middletown.
8:00 p.m. Police make a welfare check to a tenant after the owners of the building told police they had not seen the tenant in some time and wanted to check on the tenant and her child if they were home. Upon entering the residence, the officer notices that the property is in complete disrepair and he observes a severely dead Christmas tree. Officer advises the landlord, at his discretion, that the tree posed a severe fire hazard and should be removed. He accepts officer’s advice and delicately removes the remaining lights and decorations so as to not damage them, and then removes the tree to the outside. There is no sign that anyone had been there in sometime.
Saturday, January 27
9:30 a.m. Police receive a debit Mastercard that was found at the ATM Machine at Walden Bank.
5:46 p.m. Police call owner of a vehicle parked unoccupied at the riverfront. Owner says it is disabled and will be moved shortly.
