Thursday, November 30
8:30 a.m. Police assist FBI agents in their investigation of a Cornwall-on-Hudson couple and their custodial rights to a 4-year-old boy living with them. The FBI is looking into whether or not the child’s adoption in California is legal. The family is in the process of moving to upstate New York and before they left, police assist in placing the child in protective services until the issues can be resolved.
10:48 a.m. Police assist a tractor-trailer that had gotten stuck in a ditch and is blocking traffic in both directions of Shore Road. Tow company removes the truck and road reopens.
11:23 a.m. Police remove skateboarders from a private driveway.
12:13 p.m. Police advise two skateboarders not to skate in the village hall parking lot.
3:48 p.m. Police respond to a report of a dumpster on the side of Homeland Avenue, creating a potential hazard. Officer puts cones around the dumpster.
5:28 p.m. Police issue a summons to Joseph Cucuzza, 44, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, for an expired vehicle inspection.
6:26 p.m. Police issue a summons to Nicholas Alonge, 18, of Cornall-on-Hudson, for not wearing a seat belt.
7:57 p.m. Police receive a report from a woman who has a message recorded on her phone from an international caller who spoke in a foreign language. Police advice the woman to report any further incidents.
8:36 p.m. Police arrest a 16-year-old male from Cornwall and Paul Miller, 18, of Cornwall, and charge both with possession of stolen property when police find a shotgun in their car trunk that had been reported stolen in Cornwall. The police also charge the driver with driving without a license and failure to use a turn signal. The arrests occurred after police responded to a report of shots being fired on Reservoir Road in Black Rock Forest. In addition to the shotgun, police seize numerous live and spent shotgun shells.
Friday, December 1
5:50 a.m. Police respond to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Duncan Avenue and talk with the occupant who said he didn’t want to wake up his mother who lives nearby so he was sleeping in his car. Driver decides to leave to sleep somewhere else.
12:20 p.m. Police assist fire department attending a car fire on Route 9W.
7:12 p.m. Police issue a summons to David Hudson, 19, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, for making an unsafe start in his vehicle.
10:25 p.m. Police respond to a complaint from the DB Mart owner that two 15-year-olds from New Windsor had urinated outside his business and gave him a hard time. Police locate the youths and tell them not to go to the DB Mart again.
Saturday, December 2
12:21 a.m. Police respond to a report of an attempted entry at a house on Hudson Street and find two 15-year-old males from Cornwall-on-Hudson who say they were retrieving their backpacks from the residence. Inside the backpack were two containers of alcoholic beverages that the police officer disposed of.
9:20 a.m. Police find a skunk in a flowerpot on the porch of a Payson Road residence and dispatch the animal.
10:45 a.m. Police respond to a complaint about a woman outside a village business with a sign claiming she had been defrauded by the business. Police advise woman she cannot disturb the business or customers and cannot obstruct traffic.
