Police Blotter: July 5-8, 2009

Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Blotter

Sunday, July 5
12:25 a.m.  Police advise subjects igniting fireworks on Academy Avenue to stop.

12:32 p.m.  Police respond to a medical call with Covac.

4:10 p.m.  Police issue two parking tickets to vehicles at the riverfront.

7:36 p.m.  Police find drug paraphernalia, including a spoon and syringe, near a bench in Willow Dell cemetery.

7:45 p.m.  Police take a report of a domestic dispute that occurred earlier in the day.


Monday, July 6
2:30 p.m.  Police issue two tickets, one for driving without a license and one for parking at the riverfront without a permit,  to a 32-year-old male from Newburgh.  Police then impound the vehicle.

6:05 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a suspicious male soliciting magazine sales on Weeks Avenue and advise him he needs a permit to do so.

11:30 p.m.  Police respond to a domestic dispute between two brothers.


Tuesday, July 7
2:45 p.m.  Police respond to Cumberland Farms for a report of a 13-year-old male who put a cinnamon roll in his pocket while hanging out in the store with other juveniles.  Store manager does not want to press charges but boy’s parents are notified.

7:13 p.m.  Police respond to a complaint from the owner of a small dog who said that when she was walking her dog a pit bull came out from a residence and she was afraid her dog would get hurt.  The owner of the pit bull is advised to keep the dog on a leash.


Wednesday, July 8
6:39 a.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving 39 mph in a 30 mph zone on Bayview Avenue to a 50-year-old male from Cornwall-on-Hudson.

6:45 a.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving 39 mph in a 30 mph zone on Route 218 to a 58-year-old male from Marlboro.

6:44 p.m.  Police issue tickets to two vehicles parked at the riverfront without permits.

11:59 p.m.  Police move along a group of juveniles who were making noise on Hudson Street.



Comments:

Two, not one, tickets for driving 39 mph in a 30 mph zone? ANd more tix for parking at the riverfront...and consolidation is a bad idea, huh?..
