Police Blotter: Police Blotter 10/29-11/01

Sunday, October 29
1:40 p.m. Police advise a group of juveniles on elementary school property to move along.
2:35 p.m. Police respond to a traffic accident involving two cars at the intersection of Route 9W and Mountain Road. Three male members of the Rodriguez family from Haverstraw were transported to Cornwall Hospital, with one victim appearing to have the tip of his pinky finger amputated. A witness said that the accident occured as she was turning right onto Mountain Road from 9W north and a car pulled out from Mountain Road, to make a left turn onto 9W south. The witness said the Rodriguez family was in a car behind her and that the driver of the other car was unable to see the Rodriquez car as he pulled out into 9W.
2:08 p.m. Police respond to a report of a minor motor vehicle accident on Grandview Avenue in which a man scratched his neighbor's car while backing up a common driveway.
3:58 p.m. Police respond to a report of a skunk injured by dogs on Weeks Avenue and dispatch the injured animal.
4:27 p.m. Police respond to a report of juveniles sitting at tables behind the elementary school and tell the youths to move along.
6:58 p.m. Police respond to a report of a male acting intoxicated at Cumberland Farms and give the 44-year-old man a ride home.

Monday, October 30
2:08 p.m. Police respond to a report of a minor motor vehicle accident on Cherry Avenue in which the driver of one vehicle was backing up and says she didn't see the second vehicle because of sun glare and hit that vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Tuesday, October 31
7:21 a.m. Police respond to multiple calls regarding a skunk in the roadway on Hudson Street and dispatch the animal.
9:22 a.m. Police respond to the area of Curie Road for a report of criminal mischief to mailboxes and find two mail boxes had been moved.
1:01 p.m. Police respond to a report of a student with a possible fractured arm at Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School.
7:16 p.m. Police receive a complaint about a group of juveniles in a dark vehicle on Hudson Street who approached a single male, about to fight, when the complainant stepped in to ask them to break it up. At that time, a patrol car drove by and scared off the juveniles.
10:37 p.m. Police receive a report that the American flag at Walden Savings Bank had been removed and the lanyard broken.
10:46 p.m. Police respond to a report of a deer struck on Route 9W near Deer Hill Road extension. The deer is alive on arrival and the officer puts it down and removes it to the side of the road.
11:02 p.m. Police respond to a report of criminal mischief at a residence on Avenue B, where a light fixture near the kitchen door was pulled from the house and the light bulb removed and planters were moved.

Wednesday, November 1
8:44 a.m. Police respond to a report of criminal mischief at the village bandstand. Highway Superintendant Bob Gilmore showed the officer graffiti markings on the bandstand and the officer photographed the graffiti for further investigation.
1:51 p.m. Police assist a young mother with two kids who had lost her keys at Donahue Park and give her a ride to her house to retrieve a second set of keys.
2:06 p.m. Police respond to numerous reports of a possibly rabid skunk on Payson Road.
