General News: DPW Employee Back to Work After Accident

Thomas Vesely, a 22-year employee of the Cornwall-on-Hudson Department of Public Works, is back on the job this week following a serious automobile accident last November.
Vesely, whom co-workers call “Kiss Boy” because he is a big fan of the band Kiss, returned to work on Monday after recuperating from broken bones in his leg and arm. “I’m glad to be back,” Vesely said earlier this week as he spread hot asphalt on Weeks Avenue, a big smile on his face. He said months of physical therapy have enabled him to regain his strength.
Vesely’s injuries resulted from an accident that occurred on a rainy night on Route 9W in Lloyd. The driver of the second vehicle died in the crash and Vesely was hospitalized in critical condition.
