Police Blotter: Police Blotter 10/22-10/25

Sunday, October 22
9:35 a.m. Police respond to a report of a gunshot in the woods near Academy Avenue and find a 4-point buck with cut antlers.
1:21 p.m. Police respond to a report of a Jeep parked on Academy Avenue that had been keyed along the entire driver’s side.
3:48 p.m. Police respond to a report of a rabid skunk on First Avenue and observe that the skunk was disoriented, walking in circles and bumping into things. Skunk was dispatched by patrol and placed in a garbage bag.

Monday, October 23
2:29 p.m. Police respond to a Duncan Avenue residence for property left in the front yard. The subject reporting the property said that he found a riding lawn mower on his front yard and didn’t know how it came to be there. Officer had noticed the same lawn mower in the yard of another house further up Duncan Avenue earlier that day. Officer called the highway department, which said they would pick up the mower with the garbage pick-up items.
3:54 p.m. Police respond to a report of a possibly rabid raccoon and see that it is acting very strange. Officer dispatched the animal.

Wednesday, October 24
8:28 a.m. Police respond to a complaint that items – an RCA TV and two batteries -- had been illegally dumped outside a residence on Jean Court. Homeowner will seek assistance from DPW.
12:42 p.m. Police respond to a report of a rabid skunk wandering through a garage on Cornwall Avenue and dispatch the animal.
2:40 p.m. Police respond to a report of a rabid skunk on Duncan Avenue and dispatch the animal.
3:30 p.m. Police escort a person going through a divorce to a local residence in order to pick up personal items left in the driveway.
6:06 p.m. Police respond to the village gazebo for a report of youths skateboarding on it. Officer noticed several youths skateboarding on the gazebo and turned towards the gazebo, which was empty on arrival. The officer saw one of the youths running on Idlwild Avenue and caught up with him, then took his skateboard and told him that his parents could come to the station to pick it up.
