Police Blotter: Police Blotter 10/8-10/11

Sunday, October 8
2:50 a.m. Police respond to a complaint of noisy people in the area of Elpis Place and tell the juveniles there to move on.
8:40 a.m. Police respond to a report of a skunk in the basement of a home on Idlewild Avenue. After deliberations, officer decides to leave the basement door open so that the skunk could leave on its own.
8:53 a.m. Police respond to a report of a skunk on Payson Road and find the animal dead on arrival.
9:48 a.m. Police respond to a report of a rabid skunk of Clark Avenue. Animal is dispatched.
11:50 a.m. Police respond to a report of a rabid skunk on Shore Road. Animal is dispatched.
7:28 p.m. Police assist town police to locate missing hikers in the area of Mountain Road.

Monday, October 9
6:01 p.m. Police respond to a report of a large group of youths in the roadway on Clark Avenue and find them playing "hacky-sack" in the roadway. Officer tells them to move along.
7:26 p.m. Police receive a complaint from a man at Painter's Tavern about a possible fight. Complainant tells police that a group of youths had threatened him and told him to leave Cornwall and go back to Jersey. Police were unable to locate alleged other subjects.

Tuesday, October 10
7:17 a.m. Police respond to a report of a skunk on Duncan Avenue that is not moving its body and officer dispatches the animal.
11:04 a.m. Police respond to a report of a possibly rabid animal on Grandview Avenue and officer dispatches the animal.
1:36 p.m. Police respond to a report of a possibly rabid animal on Payson Road and officer dispatches the animal.
3:51 p.m. Police repond to a report of a possibly rabid animal on Clark Avenue. Officer observes the animal circling and appearing to be disoriented, then dispatches the animal of the front lawn of the elementary school.
8:45 p.m. A man requests a police escort to return to his home on Hudson Street to retrieve his motorcycle helmets after he was locked out by his live-in girlfriend.

Wednesday, October 11
4:49 p.m. Police respond to a complaint from a mother who says she fought with her daughter. The 16-year-old daughter stormed out of the house and the mother is concerned that her daughter will hurt herself. Police file a domestic violence report. The girl later appears at the Town police station with a family friend concerned about the girl's safety if she returns home. Police take the girl home after she said she would like to go there.
