General News: Three Charged With Possessing Stolen Property

Cornwall police charged three people from Newburgh with possession of stolen property Saturday evening after stopping a Dodge Durango traveling on Angola Road
According to Office Bedetti’s police report, Woodbury police had advised local law enforcement to be on the look out for the vehicle, which was suspected of being involved in a larceny at Woodbury Commons. Officer Bedetti spotted the Durango and pulled it over. Inside he found more than $1,000 of stolen merchandise.
William Boykin and Shavon Melvin, both 20-years-old, were arrested along with an unidentified 17-year-old female on a felony count of possessing stolen property and a misdemeanor charge of possessing an anti-security device. Melvin was also charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding. The trio and a minor under 16-years-old who was in the vehicle were turned over to police in Woodbury, where they faced more charges.
